Pretenders are angry at the mention of God's truths because it convicts them of sin. I notice that they are never ashamed that they defied God, only mad that you shined the light on their sin.
We are living in "ragingly insane" times as 2 Timothy 3 says. Sadly though most people do not recognize the times, they flow with them.
Many false doctrines are entering the church gatherings! Any opposition to the false doctrine is met with intense anger as well as attempts to discredit the truth teller.
The church gatherings are turning into bastions of entertainment full of blasphemy promoting fleshly pleasure tacking on the name of Jesus to make is all seem spiritual.
2 Timothy 3:5
"Having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people."
Jeremiah 6:14-16 "…14 They have dressed the wound of My people with very little care, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace at all. 15 Were they ashamed of the abomination they committed? No, they were not at all ashamed. They did not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; when I punish them, they will collapse,” says the LORD. 16 This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths: ‘Where is the good way?’ Then walk in it and find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it!’…"
The church gatherings are filling the heads of pleasure seekers with superficial platitudes that leave them feeling happy they are enjoying their sin. Instead of convicting them to seek Christ for cleansing they are coddling them further deepening their sinfulness.
1 Peter 4:16
"Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name."
2 Timothy 2:15
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."
Luke 9:26
"For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels."
1 John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
