It is not my intent to offfend any particular group of Christianity but I have to say this about one group that has brought so much grief to the heart of God. That is the Charismatic Pentecostals.
They rely more on their emotions than they do truth. If their emotions do not match with truth they go with the emotions. When confronted that they are wrong and need to seek Chrit in His word they fight and argue to defend their sin and then they attack the character of the one who corrected them.
I have heard several Charismatic Pentecostals claim God sent them another spouse after their divorce. I corrected them with Scripture and they become angry even accusing me of being "mean spirited" and "lacking faith" for not trusting God to bring them a second spouse.
Scripture is not very important to those who love their "religious" ideas based on emotions. These people believe "feelings are facts", they attack others for attempting to bring truth and reason to the discussion.
My character has been attacked on a number of occasions for not accepting their assertions that God told them something when that something was directly against His Word.
It is these types who will be chasing after the antichrist with great enthusiasm when he appears. Since emotions and feelings drive every moment of their lives they cannot possibly be led by the Holy Spirit, He does not dwell in someone who loves their own ways above His.
Proverbs 18:1-3 "1 He who isolates himself pursues selfish desires; he rebels against all sound judgment. 2 A fool does not delight in understanding, but only in airing his opinions. 3 With a wicked man comes contempt as well, and shame is accompanied by disgrace."
It is difficult sometimes when we meet with people who say they are Christians, even acting excited to talk about "Jesus" while they are defying His Word and resistant to His correction when they are in sin.
Our question perhaps should be, "which Jesus they love" and "who do they pray to" that they would get answers opposite of what God says in His Word.
Proverbs 12:15-16 "15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to counsel. 16 A fool’s anger is known at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult.…"
Do not be a fool, trust Christ, read His Word to be cleansed continually and obey what you read there, this is the answer!
