Religious people love their rituals and depend upon their emotions to carry them.
Born again believers are steady unaffected very little by outward circumstances because their faith, which is based on Christ and not external activities or emotionalism.
James 1:5-8 "5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and [h]without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, 8 being a [i]double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."
A warrior cannot allow himself to be overtaken with emotion when in a battle. One must evaluate his situation based on the wisdom over a lifetime of training.
In the case of the born again believer, we are warriors in a battle, trained by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
Born again believers must stop reacting to the attacks of those who hate the Lord. We must remain calm, steady and ready to give an answer while knowing that we do not have to defend ourselves, Christ has our back always. It is not man that we fight against, its the evil powers of darkness that surround us daily as we walk through this world. They use people for their purposes but they cannot dominate anyone in Christ unless we let them.
Ephesians 6:11
"11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes."
Ephesians 6:10-20 "10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm, therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,
19 and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that n proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak."
We stand firm against the devil by the power of the Holy Spirit, not by our own power. WE do it with truth, righteousness that is on our side, ready with the gospel, and armored with faith toward God. We must stop thinking we must change this world by our own beggarly methods and tricks, beginning to fight in the Spirit, letting God do all the work on our behalf.
We do not change a wicked world by our own devices. God changes hearts when He answers our prayers, while we stand firm trusting in Him.
Proverbs 3:5-6 " 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.…"
