Discernment Allows us to Respond Righteously

It is common for rebellious people to accuse believers of what the rebellious are doing and the righteous are not. A favored tactic of the devil that works with those who are weak and without discernment is to make them believe they are the ones who are wrong when it is the rebellious ones who defy God.
When we have discernment we can see the tactics of the devil while knowing just how to handle it.
The first thing we do is never return evil for evil.
The second thing we do is to ignore an insult.
The third thing we do is remove ourselves from them.
The devil wants more than anything to cause us to respond in the same angry way he does. We become the victor when we do not become like the one who pokes and prods at us.
1 Peter 3:8-10 "8 Finally, all of you, be like-minded and sympathetic, love as brothers, be tenderhearted and humble. 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 10 For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.…"
Proverbs 20:22
"Do not say, "I will avenge this evil!" Wait on the LORD, and He will save you."
Proverbs 28:10
"He who leads the upright along the path of evil will fall into his own pit, but the blameless will inherit what is good."
Luke 6:28
"bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you."
Romans 8:28
"And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose."
It is only pride that motivates us to have the final say or exact revenge, ditching the pride allows us to have control over our emotions and faith in God to protect us.
