Olive Craig this may sound completely crazy, but the Bible never describes the reason for our gatherings “worship”.
The early Church never viewed their gathering says worship. They never described it that way. They never spoke of it that way.
The other Church gathered for the purpose of building up and encouraging one another in the faith. Breaking bread together learning together, having true fellowship.
What about worship then? Romans 12:1 says our whole life is worship. The Bible never defines a NT gathering or an event as “worship“.

Shane Irwin Amen, Amen! The word "worship" is associated with sacrifice. There is nothing we can sacrifice for Christ, He sacrificed for us and lives in every believer.
