Words Mean Nothing Unless They are Followed by Actions

It really is true that "more is caught than taught." People will see our example in life and almost never hear our words, or if they do, they twist them into their own interpretation.

It is common for people to interpret our words in the way they think and not the way we meant them. They do the same thing with God's Word often.

Our culture has misinterpreted the Bible more than they understand it the way God meant it. I hear more Scripture out of context than I do the meaning in context.

I hear silly words like; "What does that passage mean to you", instead of "What did God mean in that passage."

2 Timothy 4:2-4 "…2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and encourage with every form of patient instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. 4 So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."

Many "Christians" in our culture use the Bible as a guideline for what they want without concern about the message God is sending through His Word.

1 Timothy 6:3-4 "If anyone teaches another doctrine and disagrees with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with godly teaching, / he is conceited and understands nothing. Instead, he has an unhealthy interest in controversies and disputes about words, out of which come envy, strife, abusive talk, evil suspicions,"

It is wise to avoid those people who use the Scriptures to promote their own ideas. No one will get it perfectly when reading the Bible unless they ask God to show them truth. However, an honest person with a heart for God will not consistently act hostile toward those who bring Scripture to light in a discussion.

Angry people who say they are Christians will fight and argue to win without regard to truth. Honest and humble lovers of Jesus Christ will listen to find truth and reject whatever does not fit with God's Word.

Our culture is so full ofl ies right now that truth is rejected by most people who say they are Christians.

Matthew 7:21-23 "21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’"

Most "Christians" today do not read the Bible or they read it to find and distort what they like while ignoring what they don't like.

Luke 6:46 "Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ but do not do what I say?"

Matthew 12:50 "For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”
