Secure Our Borders.....Why?

As for securing our borders? What is the real issue here for Americans? What is the reason we want to secure our borders?

This has been a real dilemma for me. I have had mixed feelings about the problem of illegals coming in by the droves, it seems almost like an invasion because of the magnitude of the situation. As I began to seek God on this enigma of massive proportions I also saw a new perspective that most people are not addressing and even I missed looking through the narrow tunnel of the political and economic ramifications.

The real reason in my estimation, for securing our borders is to prevent illegals from coming to our country and taking jobs away from our citizens. I do believe that people coming into our country should come legally, however, when children are sent across by themselves, then I believe we have a responsibility to care for them.

When we have no control over a situation then we have to assume it is God's will for us, a call to action for His glory. God has been sending women and children from oppressed countries to come to the United States for help out of their poverty and abuse. How can we turn them away?

If a woman and child came to our door for food and in rags, we are responsible as believers to provide for them. Why is our country any different, we, after all, call ourselves a Christian nation. Where are the Christian churches, that dwell in their ivory towers every week, the attendees dressing up like royalty to attend buildings that resemble the Taj Mahal.

As Christian churches we seem to have enough money to accommodate all sorts of programs, fancy buildings, beautiful and expensive clothing, electronic devices and much more that is often unnecessary, not to mention paying high salaries to pastors and elders for their services.

How many people take vacations every year to far away places just for personal enjoyment, and still have the resources to live in houses that are more than adequate, owning late model cars and closets full of clothing?

Where is the money for missions, where are the many workers from these lavish churches that could fund help services and gospel tracts and Bibles for those who are invading our country. Those churches are also full of people who could volunteer their services to care for these children.

When we have become so "patriotic" that we would send defenseless children back through hardship to "get rid" of them, then we are more concerned about guarding our wealth than we are about evangelism or caring for those God sends to us.

Where in the Bible does God tell any country to secure their borders, other than Israel?

I will follow any law that is not against God's Law, however those coming across are not believers as a whole, they are in need of the gospel, this should be our greatest concern, that those who have come, have been sent by God to us to bring them the Gospel message while seeing to their immediate needs.

We seem to have the mentality that missions is "over there, across the sea" and that missionaries are "specially educated college grads", when the Bible teaches that all of us are missionaries, responsible to bring the gospel to anyone and everyone that crosses our path.

Perhaps we should pray for the workers to be called to this task of seeing to the evangelism of the immigrants who are sneaking into our country. What would we do if our family was in danger of starvation and military abuse? Would we seek another safer country to migrate to, in desperation for the sake of our families?

If our mindset is to let into our country only those who are accomplished and able to contribute to the wealth of our country, then we are mercenary, materialistic and lack compassion for the masses of people who are not only starving physically but also spiritually.

After all, isn't our reason for living, as a believer, to bring the gospel to the world, even our own little corner of it!!!

Perhaps we need to rethink our views on the border situation. Perhaps we need to stop worrying about our "economy" and "business survival" or natural resources and begin thinking with the mind of Christ.

God is able to provide all the needs necessary for us as believer, without us calculating our own needs. He can grow the flour in our bins when they are almost empty. He can give us a bumper crop of fruit and vegetables when it does not seem possible. He can give us potatoes in the middle of a drought. When we obey Him, trusting Him for our resources, jobs and economy, then He will provide as needed.

Believers are here for one reason only, and that is to bring the gospel to a lost and dying world. Knowing that we are not citizens of this world, sent as missionaries, should make us think always in terms of that commission than anything that is going on politically.

Many missionaries helped the locals when it didn't seem like there would be enough necessary provision and God brought the increase, not only in worldly needs but in the salvation of many.

We have to stop looking at what we have to do to protect ourselves, just obeying God and knowing that He can protect us. We may even find that many of those immigrants will grow up and become an asset to us as a side benefit for obeying God. But even if they don't, we are called to obey and leave the results to Him.

Do We Like To Cherry Pick?

There is one celebration that Christ commanded us to do in remembrance of Him. So many gatherings have neglected this. It is not Christmas, resurrection day (aka "Easter"); it is not Pentecost or lent. It is the Lord's Supper.

Luke 22:19
"And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me."

While He was still on earth on the day before He died, the celebration of the Lord's Supper was instituted in place of the Passover, because it was a picture of the fulfillment of the prophetic Messiah, not to come in the future, but Who has come. Christ left us the Lord's supper as the observance to be instituted once His mission was fulfilled as a sign of the new covenant.

Hebrews 8:13
"In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away."

It was the Passover until He died, then it became the Lord's Supper after His death. We no longer celebrate the Lord's future coming, but now we celebrate His finished work on the cross.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26
"23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes."

The first century church celebrated this God ordained ritual every day until they began meeting only once a week, then they continued to celebrate it every time they came together, it was the worship that Christ commanded that we observe.

There are only three rituals (physical actions which have symbolic meaning) that we are commanded to do in Scripture, they are; baptism, the head covering for women or lack of head covering for men and Lord's Supper.

1 Corinthians 14:26
"What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification."

I have seen this in a local assembly, the brethren come together during the Lord's supper, a brother will get up to ask for a song, pray or share a scripture pertaining to the Lord's death and resurrection, while others interject as led by the Holy Spirit. There is no designated leader, because Christ is the leader in each man.

After the Lord's supper, which is the worship time, is the teaching time. In this part of the gathering one man has prepared a teaching and leads, but every man is active in correcting or adding to what is being taught. No error is allowed to go unchallenged and Scripture is the basis for every declaration.

The leader must be above reproach, no man may lead if he is living in open sin, this keeps the gathering pure and focused entirely on Christ.

1 Timothy 3:2
"An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,"

There is no outside hierarchy for the local gatherings. They are completely autonomous, leaving the leaders in each gathering accountable to God and to their congregation for the proceedings there. There are no organized rules for the people or the gathering outside of the Scriptures. Man made rules are discouraged, only God's mandated principles as directed by God in His Word are approved. (1 Corinthians 11:17-34)

When we look at the local gathering, as described in the Word, it is easy to see how far from Scriptural standards the modern church has strayed. There were no worship teams, no one man pastor models, no error allowed without challenge and every man was accountable to God for participation in the service.

The women were to remain in submission, not usurping the authority of the men, however were given latitude for singing and praying and prophesying with their head covered.

1 Corinthians 11:6
"For if a woman does not cover her head, let her also have her hair cut off; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, let her cover her head."

The head covering for a woman was not a cultural things any more than the men being the leaders. The lack of head covering for a man was also mandated by God in these passages, that too, had nothing to do with culture, but with the order of submission in the gathering.

In 1 Corinthians 11 we see several things that should be observed today and are not, as the modern church is in rebellion against the Scriptures, "having a form of religion but negating the power thereof."

The things God has mandated are, men in leadership, women to be covered when praying and prophesying, and the observance of the Lord's supper often. One man leadership is discouraged while participation by all men is encouraged.

Are we interested in obeying God or are we cherry picking the scriptures we like right out of their context to be able to have the religion be desire?

The Christian Woman is Accomplished and a Blessing!

Some of the modern books written for the Christian woman are not based on God's description of a wife but base their beliefs in human tradition and man made rules.

I once read an article about a woman who had a husband who is always late to everything.  This woman asked an older woman what she should do.  Should she remind him or just let him be late, because he was the leader and should manage his own time.  The older woman advised her to let him be late, don't say anything.  When the woman brought this to her husband to get his thoughts, he rebuked the other woman.  His response was "you are my help mate; it is up to you to help me be on time by telling me when it is time to go." 

I read one of the Pearl books and was sadly disappointed. Much of what was said was out of context and even tradition rather than scripture.  Mr. Pearl in one of them suggested that the man buy the cloths for his wife, she was not to buy her own cloths.  This is exactly opposite of the Proverbs 31 woman, she is to buy even her husbands cloths and all the cloths in the household. 

Proverbs 31:10....

Who[b] can find a virtuous[c] wife?

For her worth is far above rubies.

11 The heart of her husband safely trusts her;

So he will have no lack of gain.

12 She does him good and not evil

All the days of her life.

13 She seeks wool and flax,

And willingly works with her hands.

14 She is like the merchant ships,

She brings her food from afar.

15 She also rises while it is yet night,

And provides food for her household,

And a portion for her maidservants.

16 She considers a field and buys it;

From her profits she plants a vineyard.

17 She girds herself with strength,

And strengthens her arms.

18 She perceives that her merchandise is good,

And her lamp does not go out by night.

19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff,

And her hand holds the spindle.

20 She extends her hand to the poor,

Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.

21 She is not afraid of snow for her household,

For all her household is clothed with scarlet.

22 She makes tapestry for herself;

Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

23 Her husband is known in the gates,

When he sits among the elders of the land.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them,

And supplies sashes for the merchants.

25 Strength and honor are her clothing;

She shall rejoice in time to come.

26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,

And on her tongue is the law of kindness.

27 She watches over the ways of her household,

And does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;

Her husband also, and he praises her:

29 “Many daughters have done well,

But you excel them all.”

30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,

But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,

And let her own works praise her in the gates."

The woman is the manager of the house, she has been given that calling by God, not her husband.  She provides all the needs of her household as we see in the above passages.

She is to mandate the household functions and the husband is to submit to that. When she makes a rule that the shoes come off at the front door then the husband should comply. 

When she serves dinner at a certain time, then he should be there, of course she takes into account the family needs and acts accordingly.

She is a busy, capable woman who makes many decisions on her own without her husbands consent, even buying a field without him. 

The  slavery mentality  toward women, that has been brewing since the 70's has been an over reaction to the feminist movement.  We don't have to over react, we can know the Word, obey it and forget about pushing back by making rules that God never intended.

I have been oppressed myself by those who think that I should ask my husband what color to paint a room or anything else in the household.  He knows that it is my job to decorate, I take into account his tastes too, but I do not consult with him when I want to paint a room.

Often he comes home to something new or changed.  God says in Proverbs, "her husband safely trusts her", because she has been proven to be capable.  My husband would be upset if I bothered him with every detail of the home, as it is he gets to come home after working hard all day and sees that everything is done, he has no need to work at home too, except in a case where something is too hard or heavy for me.

We need to stop reading these cultic style marriage books written as an over reaction and begin just seeking God. 

Read Proverbs 31, in that passage the woman is very busy, capable in her own right, alleviates the pressure of the home on her husband by making decisions so he does not have to make. 

It is a relief to my husband that he does not have to make decisions on things that do not interest him, such as decorating, dishes for the kitchen, hair style, clothing style or floor and window coverings. He enjoys them when they are done, but does not want to do the job of deciding them.

I chose all the furniture in our house, I took into account his likes as well as my own, but he never saw it until it arrived at our door, he was very pleased and thankful he did not have to go furniture shopping and he enjoyed my choices.

We can see all these principles for caring for the home in Proverbs 31, no where in that passage does God say to be sure and consult with your husband before doing any of it. 

In our case my husband is in charge of the finances because he is good at it, I know of other marriages where the husband is not interested in the book keeping and it has been given to the wife because she is proficient in it.  There is no scripture that says that the man is to be in charge of the finances.  Whoever is gifted in this area should be the one to manage it.

The man is the leader in spiritual and political matters, that is his calling and the wife is to help him become successful in that, by her conduct at home and her community activities. 

God says in Proverbs that the husband is respected in the city gates because of the efficiency and wisdom of his wife.  A wife can make or break a husband by not doing well in the things God has given her to do, such as homemaking, hospitality, charity work as well as helping him in his profession if need be. 

Any feminist who thinks that homemaking is nothing important,  is ignorant of the duties of the homemaker and the power that she has over her entire household.  A man will do better in business when he has a capable woman taking care of things at home, while being available to help her husband in his job and ministry. 

The feminist movement has produced two things, the first thing is very selfish and demanding woman on the one hand and on the other hand the Christian women who over react and become robotic mindless slaves who don't know how to manage anything.  They have been relieved of their brain in favor of indentured servitude, almost resembling the mentality of the Muslim woman. 

God is not a God of oppression but freedom, within His principles we can be highly skilled, wise, giving and a servant to all, of our own free choice.  If our husbands follow the Proverbs 31 model, they will not only be blessed by it, but will enjoy their accomplished and confident wife, a companion and confidant.

May the Lord show Christian women His way, not the way of human thinking or over reactive ideas.  

No Excuse for Being Fooled

If we are truly seeking Christ, then we will be very uncomfortable with the foolishness of the modern church, we will develop discernment, because we sense something isn't right, so we go to prayer to find out what the Holy Spirit is trying to say to us, and then He will tell us.

James 1:5 "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

Those who are fooled by bad doctrine and emotional hype are those who are not listening to the Holy Spirit, if they hear Him they do not ask what is wrong.

Christ Provided Salvation For Everyone

The Lambs book of life is for everyone, the book begins with everyone in the world in it, those who are removed are those who will not trust Christ.

Revelation 3:5 - "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will NOT BLOT out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."

God does not say he will put the name in and then take it out, it only says "blot out" what was already there. This idea fits perfectly with God's character to provide for everyone, knowing that not everyone will avail themselves to the free gift of salvation.

Christ died for the entire world, He desired that all would become born again.

I John 2:2 "and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world."

1 Timothy 2:4
"Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."

Christ began with a plan for all of mankind to become born again, He loved the entire world, however He gave everyone a choice and knows that not all will believe, many walk in rebellion and will not follow Him.

Food Has Little To Do With Health

I am convinced that food has very little to do with clogged arteries. I believe stress does more to foster heart trouble than any food that we would eat. All the people I have known who had severe heart problems have been hyper, nervous people, just my personal experience.

God does say, "The man who trusts the Lord lives a long life." I think it is possible and likely that one who trusts the Lord worries less, having a calm and trusting spirit that keeps them physically healthy.

Proverbs 10:27

"The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened."

Proverbs 9:10-11

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. For by Me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased."

Proverbs 3:7-8

"Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.

8 It will be healing to your body And refreshment to your bones."

Demonic Activity is Alive and Well!

I was never addicted to drugs of any kind, but I was on depression drugs for one year. I told the doctor that I would try them for a year and after that I would get off and never return. 

I felt I needed help through a difficult  time in my life, so I allowed the doctor to talk me into these drugs. I told the doctor that I was not able to eat but didn't feel depressed, he attempted to convince me that I was depressed. 

I thought that the drugs wouldn't hurt for a period of time to help me focus more and be able to have an appetite. I noticed while on the drugs that I developed a sense that nothing mattered. I was lethargic, caring about nothing. It frightened me that I was developing an attitude that nothing really mattered, so I returned to the doctor and informed him that I was not going to take them anymore. There was a slight personality change that I didn't  like.

A short time after quitting the drugs, my sense of reality returned to me and there was no need of drugs at all. The doctor tried to convince me that I would need them the rest of my life. I told him that I refused to be on anything the rest of my life, I would give it one year and if saw no difference after going off I would just live with my lack of appetite. 

I have experienced the normal sadness at times, that come with life, but nothing deeply and never extended periods of time.

Since I didn't "feel" depressed, I felt I could live with not eating. I went off the drugs, resumed eating and never went on them again, here I am 35 years later and never having any sense of deep depression, not before the pills nor after stopping them. 

I can see how some people would be afraid to go against a doctor, because they are not strong willed as I am. I believe from this experience that there are people on these drugs who don't need them but have been convinced they do. 

I was also told by a doctor that I would be on thyroid for the rest of my life, I used it for a year, went off and did not return to them until 40 years later, when I was again told I would need them for my entire life. I have recently gone off the thyroid again and am perfectly normal. I am convinced that my thyroid straightened out, possibly with the help of the drugs, but I began to feel overdose, so I quit and am normal once again. 

Too many doctors believe that once a person is on a drug they will never get off. I don’t know if this is ignorance or deliberate for purposes of job security. 

I wonder how many people would come out of depression or lethargy all by themselves given enough time? Perhaps most who take them would do better to weather the storm, rather than turning to drugs. Just a thought!

And, as a believer, I mean "weather the storm", by praying and seeking God for the cure. I cannot judge people for their use of drugs, they may love God very much, but I think that our culture has placed too much credence on the medical profession, so much so that they are afraid to "not do" what the doctor tells them. 

Doctors are human beings and are taught a certain way, they are pre-programmed by their instructors and often think only the way they were taught. Many are not born again, so they only have humanistic science to turn to for their answers. 

The same science that says a person must be on depression meds or thyroid for their entire life, is the science that also believed it was bad to eat eggs and butter, just 50 years ago, now it has proven to be wrong by other new scientific evidence.  It is alright to try what the doctor suggests but it is important to pray and hear the Holy Spirit, guided by the wisdom of God, we can use a clear and unadulterated mind to determine what we should be doing.

I am grateful for doctors when it comes to curing disease and operating when needed but I am skeptical when it comes to things of the mind, where no physical evidence can be the guide.  There "science" of the mind is no science at all, but pure speculation based on observances in human behavior.  How can an unregenerate mind of the secular doctor, discern the things of the mind that cannot be proven physically?  

The same psychiatrists who believe in these mind control drugs do not believe in the work of demons, or the wickedness of man's heart, while believing in self esteem and the basic goodness of man. How can these doctors come up with right answers pertaining to the mind? They cannot rightly  determine the workings of the human heart, their premise begins with a faulty and failing foundation. Psychiatrists believe that man is basically good and evolved from apes, they have a crumbling foundation.  

Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"

The mind can be diseased, but being able to determine a true scientific disease caused by physical illness is far different from determining the mind when there is no evidence of physical disease other than chemical imbalances.

Chemical imbalances can easily be demonic activity, when we remember the account of the person who was hunched over because of demon possession, we realize that many physical abnormalities can be demon activity, whether oppression or possession. 

I am not one to find a demon under every rock or associated with every illness, however I do think that far more demonic activity in these last days is present. When we take a look at the life responses of diseased minds, we see much anger, rebellion, murder and hatred in those who have been diagnosed with mental disorders.

If the mind becomes diseased by physical means alone, then why are not some of the cases of mental disorder producing kinder, more loving and friendlier attitudes, than was normal for a person.  We only see deterioration on the side of hate, meannness, violence and filthy language.  

In the case of Tourettes, why is the language always filthy, evil and violent?  Why would there not be some cases of a person with Turrets who speaks in sweeter more gentile language.  The syndrome produces wild twitching and tics that leave the body helpless to its' manifestation.  If it were a real disease why would it not produce a calmer body sometimes.

Is it not likely that Tourettes is nothing more than demon activity, and what about all the other mind controlling illnesses that leave the victim helpless and controlled by them?  I believe that in these last days we are experiencing far more demon activity than we saw many years ago, the Pandora's box to it has been opened because of the wickedness in the land.

Matthew 9:32-33
"32 As they were going out, a mute, demon-possessed man [a]was brought to Him. 33 After the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke; and the crowds were amazed, and were saying, “Nothing like this has [b]ever been seen in Israel.”

Matthew 12:22
"22 Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute was brought to [a]Jesus, and He healed him, so that the mute man spoke and saw."

Matthew 17:14-18
"14 When they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus, falling on his knees before Him and saying, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic and is very ill; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not cure him.” 17 And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured at once."

Mark 5:1-13
"5 They came to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gerasenes. 2 When He got out of the boat, immediately a man from the tombs with an unclean spirit met Him, 3 and he had his dwelling among the tombs. And no one was able to bind him anymore, even with a chain; 4 because he had often been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him and the shackles broken in pieces, and no one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Constantly, night and day, he was screaming among the tombs and in the mountains, and gashing himself with stones. 6 Seeing Jesus from a distance, he ran up and bowed down before Him; 7 and shouting with a loud voice, he *said, “[a]What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, do not torment me!” 8 For He had been saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” 9 And He was asking him, “What is your name?” And he *said to Him, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” 10 And he began to implore Him earnestly not to send them out of the country. 11 Now there was a large herd of swine feeding [b]nearby on the mountain. 12 The demons implored Him, saying, “Send us into the swine so that we may enter them.” 13 Jesus gave them permission. And coming out, the unclean spirits entered the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea, about two thousand of them; and they were drowned in the sea."

Is is possible that all these shooting by young people who end up killing themselves, are possessed by demons, but because we don't recognize demon activity as real in our culture, we assign a label of mentally ill to them?
