Christ does not empower us to live the Christian life, He IS the power within us. The difference between born again and those who are not born again but think they are, is that the pretender thinks he/she has the power imparted to them by God, it becomes their power, but the authentic believer knows that he/she has no power of his own not even imparted to him, but that any power he displays is the person of Christ working in him.
John 1:3 "All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being."
Colossians 1:17 "He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."
Hebrews 1:3 "And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,"

The Holy Spirit becomes one with our spirit when we become born again. We no longer operate on our own power as we obey, but in His power. We can disobey the Lord when He prompts us, but we suffer the consequences of disobedience, God never removes our choice to obey or disobey after our spirit becomes a new creation, He merely redirects us through life experiences to return to a place of obedience.
1 John 2:1 "My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;"
Hebrews 12:6 "For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth."
Becoming born again is somewhat like the marriage of a man and woman. The spirits of two people meld together to become one. A spouse can physically walk away from their marriage partner, but their spirits remain all mixed up together with their spouse. The physical body is gone, but the spirit is still entwined with the one who is gone.
Ephesians 5:31 "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh."
Mark 10:8 "8 and the two shall become one flesh’; [a] so then they are no longer two, but one flesh."
Matthew 19:4-6 ""Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh' ? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
So many people cannot figure out why they are so devastated when there is a divorce, even though a part of them wants to be free. The reason someone has a sense of failure and emotional turmoil over a divorce is because a part of us is missing when the other half of our spirit is no longer present. In the physical realm we might compare the spiritual tearing to the loss of an arm or leg. Something is missing when a marriage partner is removed but still alive. A part of us dwells somewhere else, our soul yearns for the return of that other half of us. When a spouse dies, there is a sense that we are released and can move on to whatever is next for us.
Even in terrible marriages, there is a sense of loss in a divorce. I have seen time and time again a woman who is abused by her husband, continually return to him or remain with him in spite of the abuse. Sometimes the woman is even criticized and looked down upon for remaining with an abusive partner. The reason she remains is because there is a strong connection and bond with the person who is the other half of her, even though things are very rough.
God can remove us for a time from an abusive spouse, because it is a violation of God's law and of the civil law. Until the partner realizes their need for repentance and a change of attitude and actions, they cannot be in contact with their spouse.
1 Corinthians 7:5 "Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control."
When we realize that our life as a believer is not completely in the physical realm but more in the spiritual, we can be more faithful to Christ in our commitments. Everything is for the glory of God rather than our own personal comfort and enjoyment. We have a purpose, an eternal purpose that drives us to love the ways of God.
Ephesians 3:11 "This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord,"
When we go back and look into the context of the verses here, we realize that our physical life is only a training ground for the spiritual life and the eternal life to come. It is also a picture of our relationship with Christ, to help us to more fully understand salvation. God made an eternal commitment to us when we became born again. And, when we marry, God joins us together as a permanent union on earth until He releases us through death.
Romans 6
"6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:"

We Must Ask If We Want To Know
Too many people today are basing their belief system on experiences rather than truth.
We cannot base anything we believe on our experiences. Feelings and experiences lie to us, they build up our emotions and cause us to have myopic vision.
We need to stand back, take a better look at things and compare them with the Words of God.
If the Words of God do not match up with the experience, then we throw away the experience and go with the Words!
Psalm 107:20 "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
Ephesians 5:26 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
Why would I trust my fleshly feelings when I could seek the Word (Christ) Who lives in me for the answers to all things. The more we do this, the greater discernment we have. We cannot develop discernment when we are starved of God's Word.
God will give wisdom to all who want it, but He will leave us to flounder and fail if we refuse to ask Him.

Do Not Fear
In three days is the anniversary of a terrible attack on our nation by the Muslims. My prayer for us is that those who are believers will be an example of Christlikeness and steadfastness during this time and that many unsaved people will become born again because of what they have to experience.
Maybe nothing will happen, but the signs are all there that something will. In any case I pray for the believers to be safe and for non-believers to come to know Christ. None of us really know how serious any of this is, until we have to face it, but in Christ we have all we need for whatever comes.
Psalm 28:7 "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him."
Psalm 18:2 "The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower."
Deuteronomy 31:6 "6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

It's All About The Holy Spirit
Too many people are "having a form of religion but
denying the power thereof."
We have a set of rules, "do's" and
"don't's", that we peddle to the world as a form of Christianity. When
we do this we are missing the point.
The Point.....is not about the do's and don't's, but about
the Holy Spirit Who comes to live in us. If we have the Holy Spirit and are led
by Him, then all the rest will fall into place.
Acts 2:38
"38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one
of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and
you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
The Do's and Don't's may show us we are off track, needing
to confess to bring us back into line with the will of God, but they do not
save us or make us more holy.
1 Corinthians 6:19
"19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of
the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your
own?"
When the Holy Spirit is present then the elements of our
life should look like this;
Galatians 5:22-23
"22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.
Against such there is no law."
Romans 5:5
"5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of
God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to
us."
Romans 8:9
"9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if
indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit
of Christ, he is not His."
When we need to learn a principle, the Holy Spirit will
teach us.
John 14:26
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will
send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance
all things that I said to you."
The Holy Spirit prays on our behalf when we don't know what
to pray and even when we think we pray the right things, we need Him to
interpret to God for us.
Romans 8:26
"26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.
For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself
makes intercession for us[a] with groanings which cannot be uttered."
John 16:12-15
"12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you
cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He
will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but
whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He
will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All
things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine
and declare it to you."
If we claim that the Holy Spirit is leading us to do or say
something, then it better not be contrary to the Scriptures. When the Holy
Spirit speaks it will always line up with the principles in God's Word.
Romans 15:13
"13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and
peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy
Spirit."
Here is the impact on the world when we are born again by
the Holy Spirit of God:
John 16:7-15
"7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your
advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to
you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin,
and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me;
10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see
Me no more;
11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot
bear them now.
13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will
guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but
whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and
declare it to you.
15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said
that He will take of Mine and declare it to you."
The Holy Spirit can make us bold for Christ:

"31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were
assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit,
and they spoke the word of God with boldness."
All our fleshly efforts to follow rules, even principles of
God, in our own power by our own pride, will have no effect in us or others.
God may use them in spite of us, but they do not please Him.
God's desire is that all we do and say would be through the
power of the Holy Spirit. May our prayer be that we get behind the Holy Spirit
as He emerges to motivate us, teach us, direct our path and speak through us as
He sees fit.

Choose You This Day!
Revelation 3:20
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
Every person has been given enough knowledge and prompting from God to turn to Him. No one will have an excuse for rejecting Christ.
I heard recently a story about the artist of a painting most of us are familiar with, the picture of a man depicting Christ knocking at a door waiting for someone to open the door. Anyone that knows me understands that I hate depictions of Christ because of it's implications of idolatry, however the story is interesting.
A man viewing the painting while in the presence of the artist who did it, told the artist that he made a mistake in the painting, he forgot the door knob on the outside. The artists told the inquirer that it was not a mistake, the scripture says that Christ is knocking he has no need of a knob, the knob is on the inside for the person to open to Christ.
God will not force anyone to love Him, nor will He force anyone to obey Him. We have a choice to trust and obey, as the song says, or to reject and refuse to open the door.

"Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent."
Christ died for the entire world, He loves His creation and desires that all would come to a saving knowledge, but not all will come. Those who refuse His love will be rejected and cast into a lake of fire at the end of the earth.
Revelation 20:15
"And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."
Psalm 26:5
"I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked."
Those who believe that everyone is saved no matter their belief system, do not know the Scriptures. When we go to funerals and people are saying "he/she is in a better place, even though they never trusted Christ are speaking things they do not know.

"And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."
Christ became sin for us that we might be saved, but we have to choose Him. When we choose Him, He changes us into a new creation.
Christ extends the forgiveness, but we must receive it by responding in repentance and brokenness over our sinfulness. When we do this, then Christ comes to dwell in us and begins His process of cleansing that continues until the end of our lives. We are born again and on our way to heaven, spiritually, but we are still trapped in this body of sinful flesh.
Romans 8:3
"For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,"
He cleanses us throughout our life after He changes our spirit. Our flesh is still a problem, He gives us challenges to help us see the dross that is within us, when we confess as He opens our eyes, we become more holy and useful for the kingdom.

What Are Your Thoughts?
My husband and I had a discussion this morning. He wanted me to post our thoughts and then hear yours.
My husband thinks that our president is incapable of running a country and is doing everything wrong because he doesn't know what to do. He has bad advisers and liberal incompetent congressmen and woman surrounding him. My husband believes he is a weak man without experience therefore causing the world to see us as weak.
My take is a little different, I believe that "O" came into our country to deceive us, with the intention of devastating America purposely to destroy what he thinks is the "evil empire." I believe he knew what he was doing when he came in and continues with deliberateness to ruin us as a country.
"O" is Islamic, was raised with the same hatred that the children of Hamas and ISIS are raised with every day, by example and even being taught in their educational system to hate Jews and Christians.
I have one more thought, that not only has "O" been deliberate from the beginning but that he is controlled by demons. He lacks any sense of compassion, emotion or passion for anything at all. His speeches seem canned, without personality, making me think he is not operating in his own flesh but in the spirit of demonic power.

"O" is Islamic, was raised with the same hatred that the children of Hamas and ISIS are raised with every day, by example and even being taught in their educational system to hate Jews and Christians.
I have one more thought, that not only has "O" been deliberate from the beginning but that he is controlled by demons. He lacks any sense of compassion, emotion or passion for anything at all. His speeches seem canned, without personality, making me think he is not operating in his own flesh but in the spirit of demonic power.
