The Devil is Using Them to Destroy Believers

A narcissist will pick at their target in subtle ways day after day until one day they can no longer stand it, the target blows up and the narcissist stands by with contempt and glee that the target has lost control. One of the favorite tactics of the narcissist is to do something unkind, stealth-fully, covertly when no one is looking and then act the victim when the target confronts them on it. I have seen someone who continually taunted someone with verbal abuse and laughed when their victim began to shout at them to stop.

Narcissists know how to work their victims, by doing their dastardly deeds often in private where no one else can see, while portraying the sweet loving and kind pillar of the community in the company of others. Often those who are superficial friends or relatives of the narcissist think they are wonderful, accomplished and friendly people, not understanding why the target is not enamored with the narcissist as much as they are, little do they know that behind closed doors a lot of very calculated meanness is occurring.

The worst thing a target can do is to emote in any way in front of the narcissist. Narcissists see emotion as weakness, even kindness is seen as vulnerability. The harder a victim cries the angrier and meaner a narcissist will get.

I have known people who have done kind things for someone, only to be treated as though they did something evil or bad instead of the narcissist appreciating the kindness, they mocked or demeaned it in some way.

It is my belief that narcissism is growing in our time because it is prophetic, prophesy as described in 2 Timothy 3 tells us there would be an increase in these hateful and deliberate maneuvers.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 3 “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, 4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to a form of]godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.”

Notice that in 2 Timothy 4 we see the phrase “haters of good”, this is not just a life philosophy, this is a deep hatred of anyone who does well and lives righteously. Kind acts are seen as an affront to the narcissists because it “one-ups” them in their mind. No one can appear better than they are in any way, or they will become targets.

Narcissist’s lack self-control, they become enraged when confronted with their sin, rather than being ashamed they rage with more intensity to regain the top position. Also they cannot tolerate anyone who appears or does anything better than they, spawns deep resentment.

These things are devilish, when we know that we have encountered a narcissist, someone whose bent is self-exaltation, lacking empathy for others while demeaning anyone that would dare to express truth, we are commanded by God to remove ourselves from them. Verse 5 of 2 Timothy tells us to “avoid such men as these.”

We are going to see much more of this as our nation and the world progresses in wickedness, the devil is working diligently to destroy lives and relationships. We can fight the battles with prayer, while removing ourselves from those who have no good in mind for us.

When we realize we must remove ourselves from those who would work to ruin us and our relationships, we can once again regain the joy that has been there all along buried under all the grief brought by the devil through these people.

It is only through Christ that the narcissist can change, we know it will not be through us that they see the error of their ways, God must be the one to work on our behalf while we get out of the way.

Knowledge is power, if we know the Word of God, are walking in the Holy Spirit, we can see the tactics of the devil and the people he uses, it makes all the difference in the world in terms of our spiritual and emotional health.

Remember the battle belongs to God!

Always Seek God!

Jesus Christ told believers who their family was, it is not necessarily those we were born to and share DNA with, although sometimes they can be.

Many people who are born again do not have the love or encouragement of their bio families. They are rejected by those that the culture would call brother and sister, mother and father.

Christ made it clear to us that our family are those people who love and obey Christ. When we find ourselves wanting to walk the narrow road, continually buffeted by blood relation, then we must understand that those who share our blood are only our family if they have trusted and walk with Christ.

Matthew 12:50 "For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother."

God never intended to remain in continual conflict with blood relatives indefinitely. We are to share the Gospel with them and move on if they reject Christ.

Our culture does not understand that Christ and brothers and sisters in Christ will always be first. We have been taught most of our lives that "family is always first", meaning blood relation, those we were born to and have lived with. But God says something very different.

2 Corinthians 16:4 "Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?"

Matthew 8:21-22 " 21Another of the disciples said to Him, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father." 22But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead."

In the case of the disciple who asked to first go bury his father, we see from the original language that the man's father was not dead. He actually wanted to care for his father until he died, before following Christ. Christ told him that his father was dead in trespasses and sins and so was the rest of his family, he should let the unsaved take care of the unsaved.

There are many life applications concerning this principle, perhaps it would be good to pray always before making a decision to move forward in our giving. The Lord may tell us to help an unsaved person, but He may also tell us "not this time", we are to always help believers in need, no question about that.

Often unbelievers are in trouble because their rebellion against God has brought them to a hard place, probably the best place for them to be, since it is hardship and consequences that teach unbelievers their need for the Savior.

I know this concept will not be accepted by many, mainly because so many Christians are looking for people to help to feel good about themselves, when they may be removing the difficulty that could lead to repentance. Our love should be bigger than just bailing someone out of trouble, it needs to be so deeply rooted in the principles of Christ, that hardship is not the focus, but rather the potential outcome that could cause a turning to Christ.

If God lays it upon your heart to feed and cloth the poor, wonderful, but give them the gospel with it and do not remove their struggle, show kindness and love while giving them the hope of Christ. If they become born again, then we can help as their brother and sister in the Lord while Christ goes through with them. If they are cold, give them proper clothing but do not build houses for them.

It is compassion that compels us to help others and we should want that, but often we give too much, supplying things they don't need, while enabling them to waste what they do have. Love is more than making someone feel better, it is helping to equip someone with the skills that will help them for a lifetime and eternity.

If we love people then we think about their eternity much more than we think about their momentary comfort or what others may think of us. Bottom line? Ask God before we act and do what He tells us to do.

Once I offered to do something for someone, I did not pray about it, the Lord for several hours tormented me relentlessly until I saw that He never told me to do it. I called the person back and shared that the Lord was not giving me peace, this person ranted and raged at me for several minutes before hanging up on me. The peace flooded back into my soul, because God had told me what to do to come back into obedience. Realizing the raging and ranting of this person helped me to see that they were not yet broken over their sin and I was about to bail them out of the trouble they placed themselves in, while remaining rebellious.

All questions and stress were removed, I walked around for a couple of days praising God that He saved me from something I was about to bring on myself because I didn't pray first. After all was finished I realized what misery I would have brought on myself and my husband while enduring continual contempt and ungratefulness from a completely rebellious spirit.

I know what it is to hear God, when He is compelling me to do something and when He is compelling me not to do something. Praise His name! He is not a hard task master that will withhold when we ask, on the contrary, if we want to know He will tell us.

James 1:5 "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

God Bless America? NOT!

I will never again use the phrase "God bless America."

To ask for blessing when we, as a nation have rejected most if not all of God's principles, pretending to love Christ while ignoring Him except when we think we need Him, we insult Him by treating Him like a genie in a bottle to do our personal bidding, when we have no other interest in Him otherwise.

Those who do not engage in particular popular sins, act as though they approve of them by their silence, for no other reason than to be accepted by wicked men.

Proverbs 22:24 "Do not associate with a man given to anger; Or go with a hot-tempered man,"
1 Corinthians 15:33 "Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals."

2 John 1:10-11 "10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; 11 for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds."

2 Corinthians 6:14-16 "14 Do not be [a]bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 Or what harmony has Christ with [b]Belial, or [c]what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? 16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; And I will be their God, and they shall be My people."

Proverbs 13:20-21 "Spend time with the wise and you will become wise, but the friends of fools will suffer."

Proverbs 24:1-2 "Do not envy the wicked, do not desire their company; for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble."

Proverbs 14:6-7 "The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes easily to the discerning. Stay away from a fool, for you will not find knowledge on their lips."

Psalm 26:4-5 "I do not spend time with liars, nor do I make friends with those who hide their sin. I hate the company of evil people, and I won’t sit with the wicked."

1 Corinthians 5:11 "I am writing to tell you that you must not associate with those who call themselves believers in Christ but who sin sexually, or are greedy, or worship idols, or abuse others with words, or get drunk, or cheat people. Do not even eat with people like that."

Proverbs 1:11-16 "They will say, “Come with us. Let’s ambush and kill someone; let’s attack some innocent people just for fun. Let’s swallow them alive, as death does; let’s swallow them whole, as the grave does. We will take all kinds of valuable things and fill our houses with stolen goods. Come join us, and we will share with you stolen goods.” My child, do not go along with them; do not do what they do. They are eager to do evil and are quick to kill."

Pretenders will go along with whatever is popular and accepted by our culture, without any conscience about it, but worse than that, they will pressure believers to go along with them too. They will covertly malign and bludgeon those who stand against sin while embracing and rewarding the evil man who accepts and indulges the sins of the pretender.

Never forget that this is the plight of the believer, if you find yourself being accepted and rewarded by evil men, you are probably compromising your Christian principles. When we stand strong, the world hates us, even the world that has entered the church will make us a target for rejection.
Remember too, that we can count it all joy that we are being rejected by Christ, It means that we are walking closely with Christ.

James 1:2 "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,"

Matthew 10:22 ""You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved."

John 15:18 ""If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you."
Mark 13:13 ""You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved."

Discipline Bring Sorrow Unto Repentance

People use that "judge not" mantra as manipulation to make us feel bad for holding them accountable for their sinful actions.

The Bible never told us not to judge, the instruction was to judge righteously. We are also told to judge all things. How could we possibly avoid error and develop discernment if we were not judging everything.

Ephesians 4:14-16...
"14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love."

If we are to know truth, discerning good from evil and implementing what we know in our lives, then we must judge things according to God's principles.

Far too many people have been avoiding judging, only to end up with no standards at all, allowing wickedness to have free reign in our gatherings, encouraging evil by not confronting it head on, while influencing weak believers to continue in sin.

Want to know the truth of the matter.......Often believers do not confront sin because they are more concerned about being loved by people, than they are devoted to God. It is not love to allow a brother or sister to continue in sin without challenge.

James 5:19-20
"19 My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, 20 let him know that [s]he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins."

God's kind of love, is to care deeply about a brother or sisters walk, much more than what others may think or whether or not the brother or sister is temporarily saddened by the correction.

2 Corinthians 7:8-9
"8 For though I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it; though I did regret it—for I see that that letter caused you sorrow, though only for a while—
9 I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to the point of repentance; for you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, so that you might not suffer loss in anything through us."

2 Corinthians 7:10
"For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death."

Coddling the Wicked is injustice to the Victim

"We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented."
Elie Wiesel

Has anyone else noticed that the one who is protected and elevated in our culture is the one who acts wickedly?

The victim is often pressured to extend mercy to the evil man who refuses to repent. This is injustice at it's worst. If we feel we should forgive without repentance for yourself, then do whatever you want, but don't pressure anyone else to do something that God never commanded us to do.

We often place undo and unjust pressure on the victim while coddling and helping the perpetrators of evil. We can see this clearly in the way we are handling Islam. They bomb us, rape our women, destroy our buildings and we stretch out the hand of "reconciliation" to them as though they are the victims.

Islam is laughing, narcissists are empowered and growing worse because our culture does not require accountability and restitution. The evil person is feeling a sense of entitlement to their evil because few will confront them or punish them.

Proverbs 28:2 "By the transgression of a land many are its princes, But by a man of understanding and knowledge, so it endures."
There is little justice left in our land, foolishness abounds everywhere, increasingly worse every day. We can no longer expect justice, nor can we any longer hold to account the evil man.

Matthew 12:35-37 "…35"The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil. 36"But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. 37"For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."

Whenever we coddle the evil man while negating and ignoring the victim, we will be held accountable before God for our injustice.
