This is the reason I don't quote him anymore. When I was a young believer and didn't know any better I had some of his books. All the "educated" people recommended him to me as someone to follow. I read his writing and some of them didn't make sense so I set them aside. Years later when I went back to read them again I realized he had many "Catholic" leanings.
He said some good things but since his foundation was bad I can not quote him.
Beware of the wolves they can sound very good until we know the Bible well.

CS LEWIS WAS HIGHLY ESTEEMED BY MEN and it wasn't because of His God fearing example. Although he has many good quotes... He didn't believe in the teachings of Jesus at all.

Lewis termed himself "very Catholic" — his prayers for the dead, belief in purgatory, and rejection of the literal resurrection of the body are serious deviations from Biblical Christianity (C.S. Lewis even went to a priest for regular confession (p. 198), and received the sacrament of extreme unction on 7/16/63 (p. 301).

It is not loving nor is it kind to give a drug addict clean needles, tents to live in and ignore the laws about homelessness in the community.
The liberals are so full of themselves they care only about giving a destitute person the very implements that made them destitute and homeless in the first place, merely to feel good about themselves for giving. This is irrational, unkind and unloving.
Those who would help the druggie to get off their drugs by arresting them, placing them in jail where they can get help coming off of their drugs as well as a safe place to stay while they are becoming clean is the compassionate thing to do.
Permissive parents are the same as liberal politicians. They see only their own need to be liked by their children outweighing the hard thing that might be good for their children that is to learn the right ways to do life that will make the child productive.
It is completely idiotic to give a drug user clean needles and free tents to continue to live out their miserable existence in the cold. They turn to crime because they are destitute, out of their minds on drugs, even demonically controlled.
The compassionate thing to do is put them in jail, help them get off the drugs and require accountability when they have succeeded and are out of that place.
Liberals and permissive parents are of the same stripe. These people care only about being "seen" as good people by giving broken people what they want to remain broken. Then they pat themselves on the back as having been compassionate. This twisted thinking is not compassion nor is it loving, it is a form of hate.
Liberals see the destitute person as a means to their own self elevation rather than a human being who needs a little extra special help that would require human interaction.
Liberals throw money and goods at things to pretend they are doing something when all they do is keep the needy person in their neediness for the rest of their lives.
The kind loving person seeks a way to change the lives of those in misery, even if it is by their own hand initially. AND, the best change of all is when we share Christ, the person hearing responses in brokenness before God and desires to be changed into a new creation by Him.
2 Corinthians 5:17

This is the only lasting, that is for eternity, help any addict needs, to become born again when Christ does the changing.
God said that in the last days it would be as in the days of Noah.
How was it in the days of Noah?
1. Everyone did what was right in their own eyes and no one would listen to wisdom nor would they be reasonable. They would not be able to reason.
2. There were only a small handful of people who loved God.
3. The people had a "form of religion" but despised the One True God.
4. 2 Timothy 3 was a description of the mentality of mankind in the days of Noah, brutal and unloving.
5. No one on the face of the earth cared about anyone else on the face of the earth.
6. The people of the earth despised instruction.
7. Self was on the throne of everyone's heart, anyone who would challenge this was despised and mocked.

Are we living in the end of days: YES, everything God said would happen in the last days is being fulfilled right now.
Born again believers can see the breakdown of the family and the resistance to truth and righteousness as though many if not most people can no longer reason with clarity right from wrong.
"And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold" (Matt. 24:10-12).
The instruction from God for believers is that we are to avoid people who have the character of 2 Timothy 3:1-5. To avoid them entirely we would have to get out of the world but we are to avoid people with these characteristics who claim to be Christian. God says there will be those who pretend to be Christian having a "form of godliness" but are not born again . They deny God by their actions that prove whats in their heart.
If we want to walk with Christ we will be alone a lot as Noah and his family were alone.

It is not our own righteousness that spares us from God's wrath, it is the righteousness of Christ . He paid the price for our sin and we trusted in Him. this is the only way anyone can be counted righteous and saved from God's wrath and hell.
Those in hell will be gnashing their teeth, but not in pain, although there is pain, but in anger.
It strikes me as so strange that the word for "gnashing" of teeth in the Bible actually means in anger. Even though those going to hell are suffering they still are angry at the very God who put them where they wanted to go.
He merely gave them what they wanted, but they are angry anyway. This is the irrational thinking of a run away narcissist. They cause their own pain, demand what is bad for them and then are hateful toward and angry at those who give them what they wanted.
2 Timothy 3:1 "perislous times", means in the original language "ragingly insane."
Those who cannot take responsibility for their own sin and their own actions will judge others while accusing the others of the very sin they do but the others do not.
This is the "ragingly insane" response of rebellious people.

The modern church has been dominated by men mostly with rare exceptions of women who are preachers, and yet look at the mess in the church.
Just because the men have done a terrible job and have gone off the rails listening to teachers disseminating false doctrine, , does not mean it is alright for women to disobey the word in the instruction and roles of men and women in the church.
We knew this would happen in the last days, the women preachers are "off" as much as the men. Its not about who is doing a better job of preaching its "what did God command."
1 Timothy 2:12 "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent."
God clearly commanded the women not to preach in the gathering as leaders over men. Its very simple, the end does not justify the means when it comes to God's commands.
It is interesting that so many people believe they can defy God's commands because they can do something better that God never knew about. HOW INCREDIBLY ARROGANT IS THAT!!!!!!
All of the women preachers I have heard on the internet are in violation of God's word on multiple levels. When we disobey God He can use us in spite of us but that does not mean it is alright to disobey Him. When we justify defying God in one thing chances are good we will defy Him in many other things too. The Scriptures are only important to the usurper as far as they can twist what they read to fit their agenda.
The women preachers I have seen on the internet make me gag, mostly because they are full of hype and emotionalism not to mention very bad doctrine. They have twisted scripture in many others areas in addition to the disregarding of God's command that they are not to lead over men.
Men and women alike in the pulpits today are using silly stories, hype and emotionalism to appeal to the less spiritual and more superficial Christian.
I have heard all the arguments, "but she does such a good job", I love this one, "but the men will not do it." This is foolishness, a gathering can pray for men to come forward and God will send them.
The women I have seen preaching in the gatherings as displayed on the internet are all prosperity preachers who love their fame and their financial status.
A woman who desires to lead over men has a problem with arrogance, lacking humility. They wish to leave their place as the helpmates to the men and be the authority over them.
Don't believe me, simply challenge one of those women based on the Scriptures and watch what comes out. They will use every excuse possible to justify defying God's Word. And, they often will become belligerent and angry that you dared to question them. They will say silly things like "don't touch God's anointed", to make their challenger feel like they did something wrong in the challenge.
John 14:15-16 "15 If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever—…"
The problem with feminism in our day is that they tend to see the woman's role as lesser than the man's and they want to be above what they think is lower. The role of women in the church is not lesser but complimentary to the men if the men recognize the contribution of the women within their roles.
Yes, I admit there are men who treat women as lesser because they are not leaders, that does not mean women should usurp the authority of God to fight back. Spiritual godly men understand that women are very influential to the direction of the men when they are submitted to Christ.
A woman is to the man as a rudder is to a ship. She has the power to sway him when he veers off course. There is no need for women to be mousy and sheepish when they are in submission. They have the power of the Holy Spirit and the power of the tongue controlled by the Holy Spirit to influence a man to keep on seeking Christ.
There are too many women who will not help their men through prayer and speech, as well as women who ignore the Word of God to force men to listen to worldly counsel.
The godly woman has power through submission and through dispensing wisdom to her husband. This is where we are to use our Holy Spirit help mate status, not by usurping but through influence, scripture and prayer.
There was a saying back in the day that said it well; "the hand that rocks the cradle rules a nation." Women have far more power within their roles as homemaker and help mate to their husbands than they do when they usurp the roles of men in the church.
Women who usurp the roles of men in the church often are being used by others to promote a worldly agenda. The women to make their own choice to remain in the home, praying and influencing her husband to seek hard after Holy Spirit guidance has far more power than those who make a fool of themselves by usurping men in the pulpit.
Ladies we are not after power over anyone, we are after truth, righteousness and obedience to Christ and this can only be accomplished within our proper God ordained roles.
I have seen over the years many "Christian" women who left their homes to go into the work force thinking they must contribute to the family income or to gain status in the eyes of others. Of course that was their choice, however sadly they looked down upon those who made the choice to do the same jobs the career women did, only they did it at home. If anything the homemaker who did her job properly worked even harder than the career woman.
When the woman is submitted to Christ and makes the choice to remain in the home as described in Proverbs 31, God will bless her husband with a job and enough for all their needs. Remember there is a difference between a "want" and a "need." Americans have difficulty differentiating between wants and needs in our culture, this will take some prayer to reason well.
Philippians 4:19
"19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
