The Narcissists Biggest Desire!
I heard a saying recently it goes like this; "they want to believe you are a bad person to justify the evil way they have treated you."

I posted this on a site in a discussion with others about this topic.

 
One respondent said this; "Absolutely. They don't want to believe that you're actually a good person. They have already smeared your name with others who are against you. They have all been ruminating and hating you together SO much for SO long that they can't afford to think that they might be wrong. They need you to be the bad guy to justify their evil behavior . We'll put." @tc4583

There are many people I have met who have experienced gossip against them that isn't at all akin to how they live their life or what is in their heart.

 
Notice something the devil is very adept at, that is to accuse others of what he does and we are not doing. Those who listen to the gossip can never forget what they heard and believed from someone they like, so they never speak to the one gossiped about to get the full story. And, they would never confront the one who spread the gossip to correct their evil whispering campaigns.

Since those who choose to believe the gossip usually cannot be convinced of anything other than the first thing they heard, we must leave it to God. If He chooses to open their eyes and work in their heart that is His business. We can be confident and joyful without those who love their gossip.

The beauty of the Christian life is that we know God knows everything about us, all the players and circumstances and what comes next, we have no need to do anything except trust Him.

 
Psalm 91:14-16
14 “Because he has loved Me, I will save him;
I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.
15 He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 I will satisfy him with a long life,
And show him My salvation.”

Don't become unhinged when you hear things others have said about you that is not true, know the source, that is the devil and even have a sense of humor about it. We are free to walk away without anger, without malice and without worry because God has our back.

Honoring God or Man?

Jeremiah 23:30-32

"30 Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” declares the Lord, “who steal My words from each other.

31 Behold, I am against the prophets,” declares the Lord, “who use their tongues and declare, ‘The Lord declares!’

32 Behold, I am against those who have prophesied false dreams,” declares the Lord, “and reported them and led My people astray by their lies and reckless boasting; yet I did not send them nor command them, nor do they provide this people the slightest benefit,” declares the Lord."

We are living in the days when there are more lies being preached than truth in many gatherings. People are convinced of things God never said but think it is in the Bible. So much is "off" in the church gatherings it is the evidence that we are living in the last days as described by God in 2 Timothy 3.

It is vital that we question all things we hear and pray for the understanding so that we are not caught up in the cultural Christianity that leads people to honor themselves instead of Christ.

Matthew 15:8-9

8 ‘This people honors Me with their lips,

But their heart is far away from Me.

9 And in vain do they worship Me,

Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”

If we have to walk alone to honor God then let it be a great joy to us, never yearning for the approval of others but only the approval of God. Hallelujah!

The End Times Is Playing Out in Real Time

Jesus Christ told us in His Word, the Bible that in the end times, the church would be apostate teaching false doctrines and will act as described in 2 Timothy 3:1-5

2 Timothy 3:1-5

Difficult (ragingly insane, in the original language) Times Will Come

3 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, 4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such people as these.

Only those who have been changed into a new creation by Christ will be different from this terrible world. There are lots of pretenders who say they are Christians but have never trusted in Christ, they are only using His name for their own advantage. When Christ changes us we have a completely different spirit and that is the Holy Spirit of Christ.

When He has changed us we have His fruit:

Galatians 5:22-23 " 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.…"

Matthew 7:21-23 describes the pretenders:

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’"

Even the seculars are noticing the increase in mean-spirited rudeness that dwells everywhere all the time. People tend to only be kind and happy when they are being personally praised or elevated. They do good deeds but to magnify themselves.

Born again believers do good deeds but do not advertise it as the unsaved do. Believers love to honor Christ in their deeds and have no need or desire for anyone to notice.

Only those who are born again can discern the difference between the saved and the unsaved. They do not judge who goes to heaven or hell because some of those unsaved may trust in Christ before they die, but they can see what is what in the present.

Matthew 7:15-20

You Will Know Them by Their Fruit

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them."

What is this fruit? Here is what God said, as stated previously in this article;
