What Did the Apostle Peter Say?

Fred B. Banner Jr wrote the following:
“Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:”

‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭KJB
This has me wondering. Peter was a chosen apostle. Having said that. He didn’t mention any works for obtaining or keeping his faith, but rather said it was thru the righteousness of God. That agrees with Romans 4. Peter never mentioned mass, confession to a priest, praying to Mary or another saint, beads. Wonder why?

We all Started in the Book of Life Those who are Blotted out are those who Reject Christ until the Day of their Death

Everyone's name was written in the book of life because Jesus Christ said He wished that all would become saved. However, those who refuse Him will be blotted out.
Another false belief that has been taught down through the years is that Christ writes our names in the book of life when we are saved.
Revelation 3:5: "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels".
No place in Scripture do we see where Christ writes the names in but we do see where He blots them out.

Freedom of Speech

There are those who are so full of pride that they treat people who disagree with them as though they are worthy of contempt. They refuse to hear the whole matter while making sure others listen to them even if they must intimidate them into silence.

“If you don’t believe in freedom of speech for those you disagree with, you don’t believe in freedom of speech at all.” Noam Chomskey

Compelled by the Holy Spirit

The Lord has given me a little more insight into the next step toward the antichrist rule, which is a new president who will support Israel and likely the building of the new temple.
There will be continual talk of "peace and safety", that will lull many Christians into a sense of well-being leaving them vulnerable to deception.
No, this is not a vision or dream this is just knowing the Bible and being inclined toward the Holy Spirit Who teaches us.
1 Thessalonians 5:3
"3 While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction [a]will come upon them like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape."
When people anywhere in the world are looking for earthly peace and security they will be easily fooled when someone comes along during a difficulty promising they can fix it.
There will be a time of peace and safety coming but then the church will be removed, the natural disasters will ensue, ethnic groups against one another fiercely causing the world to beg for a leader who will save them. That new leader will be the antichrist.
When our focus as believers is on this world and our safety in it we will be easily misled by false leaders.
Proverbs 14:15-16
"15 The naive believes everything,
But the sensible person considers his steps.
16 A wise person is cautious and turns away from evil,
But a fool is arrogant and careless."
A simple man is one who thinks only of his own welfare and makes the effortless way his path based on desires and pleasure. This is the one who will believe anyone who tells him what he wants to hear and follows it blindly.
2 Timothy 4:3
"3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;"
Proverbs 14:15
"15 The naive believes everything,
But the sensible person considers his steps."
Those who love the Lord Jesus Christ will always consider His commands and principles first before making a decision. Deception is easy for the born-again believer who is following Christ, the Holy Spirit in us warns us even before we have all the information.
Acts 20:22-24
"22 And now, behold, bound by the Spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there,
23 except that the Holy Spirit solemnly testifies to me in every city, saying that chains and afflictions await me.
24 But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of God’s grace."
When we are compelled by the Holy Spirit it is of no concern to us whether or not we are accepted or loved, only that we love obeying Christ.

Preparation for the Antichrist

Everything happening now in the world is in preparation for the antichrist during the tribulation including our new president.

Only Christ Controls Us if we have Trusted in Him Alone

I am always amazed at those who think intimidation, mocking, demeaning, and exclusion work to control me. Christ is the only One Who controls me.
When we allow the culture around us to intimidate us into being just like them we have sinned. Our identity is not in our families, friends or the culture around us, our identity is in Christ alone.
Romans 6:6
"We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin."
Romans 6:13
"Do not present the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and present the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness."
Galatians 2:20
"I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me."
Colossians 3:3
"For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God."

We do not Control Others and they should not Control Us

I have no desire to control others even though I want to share the truth. I only control me through the Holy Spirit.

Those who attempt to force me into their cultural mold will find it an exercise in futility. It is Christ Who controls me.
