When we express concern and dismay at how someone is treating us, and the response is to argue, then we know they meant to do it and don't care about our concern.
When love is present, we are deeply aware of the way we treat others so that they will sense love, even if that love is expressed in correction to help.
Those who refuse to communicate in love without anger are those who only care about winning over and controlling you.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 "4 Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant.
5 It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered,
6 it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
1 John 4:6-7 "6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. That is how we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception. 7 Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."
Those who are walking in the Spirit easily recognize God's love emanating from someone, and they just as easily recognize a lack of love radiating from those who love themselves more than anyone else, including God.
1 Peter 2:11 "Beloved, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from the desires of the flesh, which war against your soul."
The desires of the flesh drive out love, leaving room only for self-indulgence and personal aggrandizement.
John 13:34-35 "A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”
Hebrews 5:14 "…13 For everyone who lives on milk is still an infant, inexperienced in the message of righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained their senses to distinguish good from evil."
Ephesians 4:13-14 "until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we mature to the full measure of the stature of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed about by the waves and carried around by every wind of teaching and by the clever cunning of men in their deceitful scheming."
James 1:22-25 "Be doers of the word, and not hearers only. Otherwise, you are deceiving yourselves. For anyone who hears the word but does not carry it out is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror, and after observing himself goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. …

Those who seek Christ with the intention of learning and obeying will be those who will develop God's love for others and obedience to Him. These people will be very discerning in ways others cannot notice good from bad.

Twisting Scripture to Justify Immodesty
There are those who are attempting to justify women dressing immodestly as self-expression and that God does not have a problem with a bikini on the beach and other forms of exhibitionism.
These are false teachers wanting to remove the principles of God to allow for sin. They use Scripture to say that the word modesty does not have to do with showing skin but only with adorning with jewelry and braiding of hair in 1 Corinthians 6.
Why do women dress in immodest clothing? To show off their wares. This is not an attitude of decency.
1 Timothy 2:9-10: Modest apparel does not only apply to jewelry and hair, it also applies to showing off skin that only a husband should see.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says,
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, whom you have within you from God? You are not your own, for you are bought with a price, so glorify God in your body."
The first thing God did after Adam and Eve sinned was to cover up their bodies. They didn't even know they were naked until after the sin of disobedience; then they went and hid from God for their shame.
Men lust, and women entice; that's what happens in a fallen world. Before sin came into the world, lust was not present; therefore, not a problem. After the fall, it became a very big problem.
If God covered Adam and Eve with animal skins after the fall, then we know the nakedness should be covered by us in the way we dress.
The devil is using every form of deceit to cause believers to sin, while enjoying the pleasures of this world without guilt.
Modesty reflects the inner heart. The way we dress demonstrates the way we think. It is important to examine our motives for the way we dress.
It's not just about adorning the hair or jewelry; it is about an inner heart of good grooming to please God.
Immodest clothing is designed to provoke others to peer at the one wearing it. Men lust when too much is showing on the woman, and the woman knows it.
Flaunting anything shows an attitude of lack of humility: clothing, accomplishments, or wealth. To flaunt our bodies to anyone through scanty clothing is pride.
I am convinced every Christian woman knows when she is dressing immodestly; the Spirit makes her uncomfortable.
A good example of this was when I was in the presence of a scantily clad woman at a fair. As I was talking to her, I was being friendly and engaging. I said nothing about clothing, and I know I didn't give any looks that conveyed disapproval; I was used to seeing it. The young woman began to pull her sweater together, covering her top as though embarrassed.
Often the Holy Spirit in someone convicts others; they think it is something about us, but it is the Holy Spirit.
John 16:8 "8 And when he comes (the Holy Spirit), he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment:"
We don't have to talk about God or moral issues in the presence of non-believers; they can sense the Holy Spirit before we ever say a word.
John 16:9-11 "9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; 11 concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged."
John 16:14 "14 He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you."
Those who come in contact with a born-again, Spirit-filled believer will feel uncomfortable but think it is something about us that makes them so awkward and uneasy.
Sometimes they will twist what you say and do to make it sound bad to be able to justify why they don't like us, when it is the Holy Spirit they are in rebellion against.
Coming back to immodest clothing, we can say that every woman who is born again should ask God if she is honoring Him in her clothing style. He will tell her if she really wants to know.
Unbelieving women don't know or care about modesty. If they don't dress themselves immodestly, they defend those who do.
Christian women should not be looking for excuses to dress like the world. Remember, if God covered Adam and Eve after the fall, we know He cares how we dress now and the message it sends to the world.
If anyone thinks there is no standard for modesty in covering the body, we might want to ask if they would be comfortable with a woman entering a church gathering stark naked? If they would say they would find that offensive then they have a standard. The next question might be Who sets the standard? The Holy Spirit does and He tells us if we ask Him.
Don't listen to those who are looking for every excuse they can find to disobey God and endorse what God hates.

Coming Out of Catholicism
When I was sixteen, I became Catholic to marry my husband, who was a cradle Catholic. I was raised in a Covenant church where the people believed one could lose their salvation. I expressed salvation in Christ at about 12 years old but had no idea what that really meant.
Both my husband and I were indoctrinated in the notion that we must do certain things to maintain our salvation. Rituals: attending Mass, or in the case of the covenant church, Sunday services every week and being a good person.
After I became Catholic, I was introduced to the confessional, where I would enter a little closet door and sit down. The priest was in another closet on the other side, and between us was a little window that would not reveal the penitent or the face of the priest. A little dark window with hatches would be opened so that the priest and I could hear one another without seeing each other.
Having been raised Protestant, I was not familiar with the mantras that were required to confess my sins, except: "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned." The other phrases that were required for me to speak, I didn't know.
I said to the priest the required words, "Forgive me father for I have sinned." I was shocked when the priest chastized me for not repeating the other phrases that had to be said before he could absolve me of my sin. He mocked me by saying, "How old are you? You should know this by now."
At this point, I argued with the priest, "You mean you will not forgive me because I didn't say those words? I think God has forgiven me." I explained that I was not raised Cahtolic and didn't know all the rituals. Then the priest reluctantly absolved me, as though I was rebellious.
This is the nature of ritualistic religion based on rules instead of Christ. When I told the story to others, they laughed because I argued with the "man in charge, who had the ability to not forgive me.
I left that little confessional box and never returned. Not because I was offended; I wasn't. I just sensed the foolishness of having to confess to a man when I could go straight to God.
This was the beginning of my quest to read the Bible for myself. After I began reading the Bible, I trusted in Christ and left the Catholic system of religion.
Shortly after that, my husband came out too and trusted in Christ.
Religion is based on man's rules and ideas, not on God's Word. Those in religions such as Catholicism trust in the Pope, not in Christ, and in the rules of the system, not the Bible.
The Catholic church feared losing people to protestantism because of their desire to read the Bible, which in the past they were discouraged from doing. I was one who defied the church and read it anyway.
Now we have "Catholic Bible Studies", sadly teaching to fit with their traditions, even using some Protestant verbiage to confuse people.
When a Catholic says they are saved by grace, they mean they get more graces each time they do a good deed. They never know for sure if they are saved, or how many graces it takes, but the more graces by deeds, the better chance they will earn their salvation.
Of course, we know the Bible teaches we do not earn grace. We accept the grace of God, based on His work, not our own.
Ephesians 2:8-9 "8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast."
Now I deal with Protestants, Pentecostals, and others who claim to be Christian who are acting the same way as the priests did. They heap rules on people God never gave, they monitor our every encounter to make sure we are following their doctrine, and isolate us from the herd for not accepting the traditions of their group that God never instituted.
Mark 7:13 "13Thus you nullify the word of God by the tradition you have handed down. And you do so in many such matters.”
Isaiah 29:13 "Therefore the Lord said: “These people draw near to Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. Their worship of Me is but rules taught by men."
Colossians 2:8 "See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ."
1 Peter 1:18 "For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life you inherited from your forefathers,"
Brothers and Sisters, we must seek the Holy Spirit and read His word for ourselves to avoid becoming in bondage to man's traditions and the cultural pulls we encounter every day.

Difficult Times
2 Timothy 3:1-5 is here now!
"3 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people."
These are difficult times to live in because of the disrespect for God.
When we watch what is happening today, good is called bad and bad is called good; even in church gatherings, the ones being punished are the ones speaking the truth from God's Word. They are gossiped against, minimized, and rejected.
God told us to count it all joy when we are reviled for Christ's sake.
Matthew 5:11-12 "11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
We are not here on this earth to be praised by men or loved by family members; we are here to speak for God, His way from His Word.
Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet."
Many "Christians" are pleasure-seeking, desire popularity, and indulge in activities that dishonor God. It is not possible to be like this and love God with all your heart too!!
Matthew 22:37-40 "37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 Upon these two commandments hang the whole Law and the Prophets.”
Loving God first and then others is to desire to bring truth and all the fruit of the Spirit of God to every relationship.
Galatians 5:22-23 "22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
