Explaining the Error of the Heresy of Losing Salvation: Because we don't measure up!
No one saved "measures up", only Christ in us measures up!
God does not throw us away because we have sinned. First of all, how many sins would you say we have to do to lose it? How big do the sins have to be? Which kinds of sins cause us to lose our salvation? It is a bad temper once, or a snarky attitude, what?
God never told us which sins, how many or how big, because He did not judge us on the basis of our sinfulness. We are judged on whether we have Christ living in us. When the Father sees Christ in us, He does not see our sinfulness, which is still there, but He sees Christ.
Secondly, 1 John 1:9 "…8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.…"
This was written to believers, God wants us to confess our sins to be cleansed, an on going life long process to grow in holiness, not to keep saved.
God disciplines His children, He does not throw them away.
Hebrews 12:6 "…5 And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, or lose heart when He rebukes you. 6 For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises everyone He receives as a son.” 7 Endure suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?…"
Hebrews was also written to believers, not the unsaved.
