Irrational paranoia leads to very bad decisions. When people are fearful of the environment they create statutes and laws that make life more difficult but have no real effect in improving things for anyone.
Friday Whine Day!
I have a top loading "water saver" clothes washer. The clothes don't get wet enough to do a good job, there is barely six inches of water in the bottom to clean an entire load of clothing.
Who ever has designed these machines have never washed clothes. Rant, rant, rant!!!!!
Stay at home women who do laundry nearly every day should be instructing the makers of these machines.
I guess I should be thankful that I don't have to go to the river and pound my clothes on rocks, but like most Americans who pay money to have a machine in their house we expect to have one that actually washes the clothes.
Even my mothers ringer washer was more efficient and did a better job of cleaning the clothes than these new water saver machines.
I learned a trick today on line, that is before starting the machine get a bucket and slowly wet all the clothes so they are heavier. Then the washer will fill with more water thinking there are more clothes. Sad when we have to trick a machine into giving us water.
You can thank our liberal government for all these extra unnecessary rules that not only inconvenience us and do not get the clothes clean but cost us money for something that does not do the job well. Paranoia about the use of water in a nation where water is plentiful has created problems that need not be.
Also, when the machine uses less water, that ridiculous six inches in the bottom when there is a full load, we have to learn to wash fewer clothes to get them clean. So then, in washing fewer clothes at a time we will have to do more loads which will mean more water. So.....Why not have one load with enough water to be able to wash one load as apposed to five loads.
This is what I mean by irrational thinking. The simple minded person thinks less water saves us water, but in fact may use more water by having to wash five loads as apposed to one.
I don't know about you but I prefer to see my clothes floating in ample water rather than sitting in the bottom half dry because the bottom towels soaked up all the six inches of water while the top towels remained dry.
UGH!!!!!!!! May the Lord help me with my attitude today.
The rant is over, suddenly I feel better. LOL
