We know what it is like to have to confess and turn, therefore we should be forthcoming with the need for it with those we love.
Never feel you do not have the right to correct or rebuke someone who needs it. Everyone has fallen short, everyone who is born again is commanded to correct as often as is need to help others grow in holiness.
Hebrews 3:13 "13 But exhort one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness."
As the family of God we want to grow ourselves as we help others grow. The way to do this is for everyone to be willing to be corrected, instructed and bold with one another using the word of God.
Those who have love and empathy will do it with the desire that someone will be blessed through a change in behavior. Those who are self-righteous will be harsh because they enjoy making others feel less than.
The kind people who love God and our brothers and sisters do not feel superior to anyone, they just know the truth and want to share it.
The love of God corrects for the purpose of helping, but the arrogance of harsh people lack that love and want to give others a beat-down merely for their own enjoyment.
You know who is who, it is clearly evident for those with discernment.
Romans 12:2
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."
Hebrews 5:14
"But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil."
We become wise and discerning by admitting when we fail and learning the resolution to a matter. Those who refuse to self reflect and correct their flaws will not grow in holiness or maturity.
Psalm 119:66
"Teach me good discernment and knowledge,
For I believe in Your commandments."
