These are some hard things for pretenders to hear but there is good news. The pretender can stop pretending, believe in Christ, and become born again to have all these blessings of His character. But they must desire to be changed by Him as well as despising their own sinfulness.
God will not save anyone who does not want to be changed by Him. He will not save a person who only cares about "appearing" good without being changed by Christ.
Matthew 23:27-28 " 27 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside, but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and every kind of impurity. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to be righteous, but on the inside, you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness."
We have few authentic believers in the world today, this is why the gospel is needed everywhere more than ever, even in the church gatherings. However, so many have heard it, there needs to be more rebukes and challenges to the pretenders to self reflect whether or not they are saved.
2 Corinthians 13:5 "5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Can’t you see for yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you— unless you actually fail the test? "
