Raking up Muck will Mess with Your Mind

If you have friends or family caught up in fake news, believing everything they are reading is true it is not possible to convince them they are being deceived.
This is happening in both conservative and liberal circles. This is the great deception of the end times that God speaks about as being so deceptive that "even the elect will be fooled", the elect being Christians.
I promise you there is nothing to be gained by listening continually to the muck that is out there as though knowledge is power. Just the opposite is true in this case, that is knowledge about evil things does not enhance your walk with Christ, it devalues it.
Raking up muck on the internet that we would not otherwise see waltzing past us in our daily life is of no value at all, but is in fact ruining the minds of many people who want to feel in control of their lives merely by knowing the muck.
I am invested in knowing what God wants me to know that brings solutions, not in useless information that serves only to dirty up the minds and remove the peace of the believer.
Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things."
When we bring filthy and useless talk about what is going on in the world to other believers we are not edifying them with the word of God and encouragement.
The best way we can encourage the believer is to remind them of God's promises, His will and the strength we derive from Him through prayer. We must not allow the "muck-rakers" to speak long and tedious dissertations on the filth in the world.
I am interested in what is going on in the Middle East especially and what is changing in our world as it relates to prophesy, but I have no interest in the details of what wicked people are doing.
Ephesians 5:11-12 "…11 Have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. '
God said this and I believe Him. This does not mean that we don't speak of what we see personally or affects us personally but to drudge up what is not walking in front of us, even believing news stories that might not even be true will destroy our peace in Christ.
Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths."
When we leave all the muck of the world to Christ, dealing with what walks in front of us we will be empowered to handle things properly as the Holy Spirit directs.
May we be discerning in choosing to hear the things God wants us to hear and leaving all the rest alone. Hallelujah!!!!
