Remove the Divisive Man
This seems like a no-brainer to me, but we would be
surprised how many people in the pulpit think like the story I am about to
relay.
We once attended a church where the pastor held the Bible
over his head and said this:
"All of the answers to life's problems are not in this
book and all of the answers to life's problems are not Christ."
We left that church and were criticized for causing division
by leaving.
I laughed and stated clearly that those who stand for truth
and righteousness are not the divisive ones, it is those who bring false and
satanic doctrine that are causing division.
Romans 16:17
"Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who
cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned,
and turn away from them."
Titus 3:10
"As for a person who stirs up division, after warning
him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him,"
Unfortunately often those who are divisive are the ones who
stand in the pulpit. If the people under them are too weak and beggarly to
remove such a man, then that is when it is time to leave.
