Leading by Influence and Example

We must also remember that being the head does not mean being a tyrant. The woman has been appointed as the counselor or as the Bible puts it in English, the "helpmeet." The husband is bound to listen to his wife, consider her opinions and needs and at times trust her judgments. The husband is also to make sure that he never undermines her authority over the children.

The Bible says this:
Proverbs 1:7-9 "7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction. 8 Hear, my son, your father's instruction And do not forsake your mother's teaching; 9 Indeed, they are a graceful wreath to your head And ornaments about your neck.…"

The way that the man leads is through instruction and influence, not by force, intimidation or manipulation.

When force, intimidation or manipulation are present then so is sin.
