Let No One Diminish Our Walk

When family causes us to diminish our walk with Christ then they have become idols to us. We love people, but we follow Christ even if we have to give up those people who distract us from Him.

Luke 14:26 " 26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters — yes, even his own life — he cannot be My disciple."

The above verse In context of the Bible, tells us that God called us to honor our father and mother and love our families. However, when we have to choose between God and family, then we are to choose God.

Losing family is minor compared to dishonoring God. We will lose family when God comes first, unless that family also loves Christ. It is rare these days that entire families have trusted Christ, mostly believers walk alone without family support or love.

We are shown in the Scriptures that this will be the end times condition. There will be and is now little faith upon the earth, everyone is doing what is right in their own eyes and most people will be hostile to Christ. Learn to accept this, it will help us to carry on no matter what comes against us.

2 Timothy 4:15-17 "15 You too should beware of him, for he has vigorously opposed our message. 16 At my first defense, no one stood with me, but everyone deserted me. May it not be charged against them. 17 But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message would be fully proclaimed, and all the Gentiles would hear it. So I was delivered from the mouth of the lion."
