Amen to this! Children naturally play, baby animals naturally play, but that's because they are immature. Our goal as parents is to guide them into adulthood and that takes from the beginning at infancy. Children are learning, sucking up their world like a sponge, every moment ought to be a teaching moment, if they are to mature into adults. I see many adults who act like bratty six year olds because they were not taught anything but play all through their growing up years.

Children should be trained to be adults. "What a crime" says this foolish and ignorant world . . . "You are destroying the only childhood they will ever have!"
To the world, childhood is the height of life's experience: "play, play, and play some more; then earn a degree, land a good paying job, and make a lot of money so the bliss of your childhood will never end!" THAT IS SATANIC! Children need training, responsibility, to accept disappointment, to be told no, not given everything they want, to respect a person's word and that their word means something; that life is about work, not playing. They need reality, not T.V. At the same time, all children need patience, not lawlessness; gentleness, not rage; to be taught by example, not mere words.
