When God Does a Matter Man Cannot Undo It!

Even if a spouse is not saved or repentant they still remain a spouse. Our character and the condition of our attitude does not make a marriage.

When God "glued" two people into one in marriage it had nothing to do with our character or our actions.

Marriage is a picture of our relationship with God when we are born again. It cannot be severed no matter how badly the believer acts. OF course how we act badly may be evidence that we were never born again, but not proof.

God puts up with our nonsense as born again believers while disciplining us to begin obeying again.

Hebrews 12:5-7…5 And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not take lightly the discipline of the Lord, and do not lose heart when He rebukes you.
6 For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises everyone He receives as a son.”
7 Endure suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?…"

God never undoes our salvation nor can man undo it. God never undoes our "made into oneness" in marriage, nor can man undo it.

God said: "no man can put asunder what God has joined." "Let no man" is not a command not to, its a statement that it cannot be done. Our English renderings are often done in the old English which is misunderstood in our day.

So those who think marriage can be dissolved are not understanding God's Word. However they have no excuse because they can ask God and He will open their eyes.

Those who think our salvation can be undone are not understanding the sealing of the Holy Spirit as the guarantee of our inheritance. When God makes a change in us it is His work that man cannot undo, as is also with marriage.
