The Voice of the Pretender

When you are chastised by other "Christians" for speaking the truth of the Bible keep in mind that you are probably dealing with pretenders.

Those who desire to believe false doctrine in order to justify their sin often accuse us of things that they are guilty of and from which they will not turn.

We are living in a time when there are more apostates than there are authentic believers. These apostates will come against truth with vicious attacks designed to keep us in meaningless and fruitless drama.

The most vitriolic of pretenders will not accept scripture when it is handed to them, they will fight against truth as though their life depends upon it.

Has anyone noticed that the pretender will tell you how wrong you are but not address any one of the scriptures that you addressed. They repeat only their feelings over and over the things they have already said but are refuted easily with the scripture you gave.

The most vicious attacks have come from pretenders far more than from other unbelievers. You see, the pretenders have information about the Bible but they have not rightly divided the word to be able to discern truth. These people hang onto secular wisdom rather than wisdom from the Word of God.

A pretender is a person who likes to be seen as a good person, even learning the words of the Bible while not understanding what they read correctly. They are known for snatching scripture out of context to justify their desired beliefs. When confronted with Scripture they will not engage with you, only defending their false belief.

When I realize what I am dealing with, that is an ignorant person who loves their sin and self righteousness, I remove myself and no longer try to convince them.

However the pretenders tactic is to continue to stalk you to begin fights that are unnecessary. The best course of action with these people is to get away and leave them to God.

2 Timothy 2:15
"15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Proverbs 12:15 "15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to counsel."

Proverbs 6:12-15 "A worthless person, a wicked man,
Is the one who walks with a perverse mouth,
13 Who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet,
Who points with his fingers;
14 Who with perversity in his heart continually devises evil,
Who spreads strife.
15 Therefore his calamity will come suddenly;
Instantly he will be broken and there will be no healing."

When we realize it is not possible to reason with someone it is time to walk away. When we realize we are in disagreement about important matters then is also when to walk away.

Amos 3:3 "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"

The answer to the question is no, two cannot walk together who are not agreed.
