Those Who Do Not Last Long in the Church

Those who do not last long in the church after becoming Christians have never been changed into a new creation.

When we have been changed by Christ we cannot undo that new creation back to the old one again. Our thinking is completely opposite of how we thought before.

Ephesians 2:10
"10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."

Ephesians 1:13-14
13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,
14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory."

Many people who say they are Christians have never been born again. They fall into this category if they do not repent before they die:

Matthew 7:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many [a]miracles?’
23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’"
God said to these people; "I NEVER knew you."

I separated myself too from sin when I became born again. The fact that I wanted to and did, proved I had been changed into a new creation. It wasn't very long after I resisted that I lost all desire for the things of the world.

Those who have not been changed into a new creation still have the desire to sin and they go back to it when they can no longer keep up the pretense in front of others.

I believe this is why so many in the apostate church live in sin without guilt. They never had the desire to leave their sin and they have the encouragement of the church to keep on sinning.
