When you come under attack in this world or in family you must remember that it really has nothing to do with you. It is the devil using the mouths and actions of people to come against you.
1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."
The devil wants to tear the believer apart leaving them helpless to speak of the Lord. But here's the thing, He cannot do this if we are walking with Christ. He can only harm us if we let him.
Matthew 10:35-37 "…35 For I have come to turn ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 A man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’ 37 Anyone who loves his father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me;…"
Who are the people most likely to intimidate us? It won't be the stranger on the street, it will always be family who can hurt us the most because we expect these people to love us the way we love them. This is why the devil uses them to come after us.
Luke 12:52-53 "…52 From now on, five in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
A family is only divided because a person in that family will not adhere to the family standard. The family standard often places family above God. They expect believers to adhere to their ways, but when we don't, when Christ and His word come first we are seen as rebels or haters.
1 Corinthians 8:6
"yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we exist. And there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we exist."
This dynamic that puts one person against the crowd will be constant and dominant in these end times. It is not the believer who is in rebellion but rather all those who will not obey Christ. We will even be accused of not loving people because we wish to follow Christ and His principles.
We will be outsiders in our own families, even among those who call themselves Christian. The church has become so apostate that most people who say they are Christians will be more likely to adhere to groupthink than to be conformed to the Word of God.
Romans 12:1-3 "1Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. 3For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but think of yourself with sober judgment, according to the measure of faith God has given you.…"
In our day most people who attend church are apostate and more invested in outer appearances than they are in obeying Christ. They have more desire to fit into the group than to seek the Lord for truth.
Never be discouraged by this!!!! God said it would happen. When people treat you as though you have done something wrong or been mean you can rest in Christ that you obeyed the Holy Spirit. We can even do this with joy. Perhaps even seeing the humor in the foolishness of the devil as he uses people. Things are becoming so silly sometimes it hard not to laugh.
Psalm 2:3-5 "…3 "Let us break Their chains and cast away Their cords.” 4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord taunts them. 5 Then He rebukes them in His anger, and terrifies them in His fury:…"
Keep looking up, we will be going home soon!!!!
