The narcissist is the same way as the clay pots, they hate those who love God, accusing them of the very things the narcissist is doing but they are not.
The more we stand strong in our dedication to Christ the more people will hate us. They will concoct all manner of lies to make us seem as the bad ones to take the focus off of their own evil behavior.
Satan goes before the throne of grace every day accusing the brethren. He even provokes them to sin and then accuses them before God that they sinned. The sin still remains on the one who did not resist the devil, but he is the trigger and gloats every time a believer fails in some way that he provoked.
This is why it is vitally important that we resist the devil when he uses our emotions to make us think we did wrong when we did right or that we did right when we did wrong.
James 4:6-8 "6 But He gives us more grace. This is why it says: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.…"
As long as there is any pride within us we are in danger of being pawns in the hands of the devil. When we are humble, thinking, and walking authentically in Christ the devil will not be able to cause us to fall.
The more we understand the ways of the devil the more we can see what he is doing and refuse to engage with those whom he uses.
1 Peter 5:8-9
"Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. / Resist him, standing firm in your faith and in the knowledge that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering."
