They are a Mind Mess and Think they are Wonderful

God has already been judging this nation by removing His hand of protection, allowing people to have the consequences of their sin through their terribly dysfunctional families and ruined marriages. They are too foolish to realize that their lives are testimonies to their rebellion while thinking they are doing just fine. They are in denial about their ruined lives but still persist in defending what God hates.
One might ask why the culture does not recognize its own destitution and the ruin that has become of its lives.

 
The answer seems simple to me now: many, if not all, people have distracted themselves with pleasure, parties, travel, and entertainment of all sorts, which conceal their problems, making it all seem normal.

 
When a culture can indulge itself continually in fantasy and pleasure, it misses the lessons that the problems bring, and makes the troubles and the worry look normal. The lives of the people are a mess, and they think everything is alright!

2 Timothy 4:3-4 " 3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. 4 So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."

The eyes of the blind have been further blinded, and their hearts have become hardened to the point that they cannot understand goodness and righteousness. They attack what they don't understand, proving they refuse to repent and learn.
