Perhaps something to say to a Christian who is rude to you might be something like this: "Was that a good representation of Christ?"
It is good to challenge a believer about their attitudes so that if they are saved, they can learn that their attitude reveals their heart and shows a need for more spiritual cleansing and growth.
However, this growth cannot happen until they confess it to be cleansed by God.
1 John 1:9 "9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
For non-believers, we can just ignore the insult and allow their own consequences to teach them. Until they repent and trust in Christ, they will not understand right from wrong. They will justify their words and actions based on their feelings, even when nothing wrong was done to them to warrant a hostile reaction.
