The selfish mentality, with the desire to be special and better than others, is here, and God told us it would happen in 2 Timothy 3:1-5
"3 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, 4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such people as these."
Many people, even Christians, are judging others unjustly because of their need to be superior. These people are calling good what God calls bad and they are calling bad what God calls good, while at the same time claiming to be Christians.
Many people who attend the institutional churches are not born again but think they are on their way to heaven. They believe simply by claiming Christianity it means they are saved. Sadly, many will hear these frightening words if they do not repent, admit their sinful nature, and trust in Christ alone.
Matthew 7:21-23 "21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; leave Me, you who practice lawlessness.’"
