Look to Christ Alone

If we need the praise of men to feel validated, then we are not yet close enough to Christ.

We long to be with fellow believers who love Christ. However, we do not need anyone to validate us to remain steady and strong as we obey Christ.

We love people, but they are not our guide, the Holy Spirit is that. The Holy Spirit may use others to speak truth to us, but we do not place our trust in men, we evaluate what men say through knowledge of the Word of God.

Micah 7:5-8
"Put no trust in a neighbor; have no confidence in a friend; guard the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your arms; for the son treats the father with contempt, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me."

Far too many people are paying more attention to what men say than they do to what Christ says. When a man speaks we must always evaluate it, to see if the man is saying the same thing Christ says.

Many teachers in these end times add to the word of God, they interpret the Word in terms of our culture rather than what God actually meant.

2 Peter 1:20-21
"20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture comes from the prophet’s own interpretation. 21 For no prophecy was ever brought about through human initiative, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.…"
