Diligence and Excellence is in the Character

Many home schoolers, have dropped cursive writing, they think that because spiritual matters are the most important, that other disciplines are not, but I think they go hand in hand. If we are "diligent people", it will be in all things, enhancing the spiritual.

It is he same with dress codes. There are many believers who think it doesn't matter how we dress because God looks at the heart. The problem with this thinking is the inability to recognize that our outer is evidence of our inner.

If we are diligent in our character, we will be that way in all things.

Proverbs 10:4
"Poor is he who works with a negligent hand, But the hand of the diligent makes rich."

Proverbs 14:23
"In all labor there is profit, But mere talk leads only to poverty."

Proverbs 13:4
"The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, But the soul of the diligent is made fat."

When we see diligence in light of the whole of Scripture, we see that diligence and excellence, is not merely outward but is an inner character quality that does not come and go based on personal desires, but rather permeates through everything we do.
