Confessing to be Forgiven

God told us to "confess" our sins to be forgiven. If we do not confess, we will not be forgiven for those sins. If we are born again, we will be judged according to our rewards, not according to our sin, those were covered by the blood of Christ at salvation.

1 Corinthians 3:14-16 "…14 If what he has built survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, he will suffer loss. He himself will be saved, but only as one being snatched from the fire. 16 Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple, and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?…"

1 John 1:9 "9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

James 5:16 ". 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail."

We must confess our sins to one another that our relationships may be restored, without this confession there is no reconciliation, only superficial friendliness that does not grow us in holiness.

2 Peter 3:17-18 "…17 Therefore, beloved, since you already know these things, be on your guard not to be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure standing. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen."
