God does not teach us all lessons at once, we are in training and must learn each lesson separate from each other lesson to really know them at a gut level.
Anyone can have head knowledge about things, but until we experience them we only have thoughts and ideas, wisdom comes from the experience of them.
1 Corinthians 8:1-2 "1 Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. 2 The one who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know.…"
2 Peter 3:17-18 "…17 Therefore, beloved, since you already know these things, be on your guard not to be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure standing. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen."
We don't have to experience every sin to know what sin can do. We only have to battle the sins within ourselves, seek Christ for the cleansing and lessons and every principle we learn will apply to every sin we have done or anyone has done.
God more often gives us wisdom through our experiences, relating them to all that we encounter. If we have ears to hear and hearts desiring to know, God will give us our desire, that is to be cleansed and to grow in holiness.
James 1:4-6 "…4 Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.…"
1 Peter 1:14-16
"13 Therefore, gird your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance,
15 but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; 16 because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
The more we obey as we seek Him, the greater level of wisdom we will gain. God will not give us wisdom if we do not use what He has given us.
