This is just how much Christ loved mankind and each and every person.
I understand this, because, even though our children may have rejected us as an authority and object of their love in their lives, we still love them, we still grieve over their rejection of us. Christ is like this too, He grieves over those He has to send to hell, those He knows would have a wonderful eternity if they would only trust in Him.
Christ removes His help and His love when someone rejects Him. He remains available until a person dies, but once the choice has been made against Him, it is over, their fate is sealed and they find themselves in the lake of fire one day.
Christ extended His love to all mankind, but many, even most, will reject His love in favor of following their own foolishness.
1 Timothy 2:3-5 "…3 This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,…"
I am convinced that every person's name is in the book of life because Christ wanted all to be saved, but those who reject Christ have their names "blotted out." God does not say he writes the new names of believers, He says he blots out of the book of life those who reject Him. So...I believe all names are in there from the beginning and the ones who reject Christ are erased.
That's just how much Christ wanted everyone to be saved, His plan that all mankind would be, so He put their names in, until they extend the final rejection.
Psalm 69:28 "…27 Add iniquity to their iniquity, And may they not come into Your righteousness. 28 May they be blotted out of the book of life And may they not be recorded with the righteous."
Revelation 3:4-6 "…4 But you do have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their garments, and because they are worthy, they will walk with Me in white. 5 Like them, the one who is victorious will be clothed in white garments. And I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father and His angels. 6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.…"
