Wait for the Prize

Two narcissists told me they don't respect me, even though they never gave any reasons for their contempt. I believe it's because they think withholding respect is the worst thing that can happen to them, so they do it to others to hurt them the most they can.

It saddens me that so many are cranky and mean, expecting others to prop them up with praise and validation, when this does not happen they become angry and vengeful.

When we are secure in Christ we have no need of continual praise or adulation. Our worth is not based on controlling others or our appearances, it is based on our relationships with Christ.

The self esteem teaching in our generation has destroyed relationships and families. Individualism is not the way of Christ, it is a ploy of the devil to ruin mankind.

When we accomplish things together, everyone having their job and gift, no one needs to be special or better than anyone else. We may award those who do good jobs, but we not treat others with less respect because they do not measure up to others.

We don't all need a prize, we can wait until heaven to be rewarded for those things we did in obedience to the Lord.

Matthew 6:1 "6 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven."
