Evaluate Yourself it is Crucial

There are more pretenders in the churches today than there are authentic believers. That's why we see so much worldliness in the gatherings. These gatherings are not gatherings of believers in general.

These gatherings are nothing more than social gatherings of unrepentant people who want to feel safe.

They want to appear as good people to others but they don't love God. When challenged to evaluate something they do or say according to scripture they become angry and hostile even vengeful.

Most of the modern Christian's thinking is based on psychology and feel good cliches' that have little meaning, often the opposite of what God says.

When we see this angst toward those who would correct and challenge behavior we know we are encountering a rebellious heart.

There has been an uptick in the number of people who pretend to be our friends but are using sly and covert tactics to keep us looped into their lives, who have no love for us. They want us to remain in their lives in order to have supply for themselves but have no interest in being an asset to us.

The goal of these people is to use us, abuse us when we challenge their ways and throw us away when they don't hear what they want to hear or get what they want to get from us.

You will find this entitlement mentality growing exponentially as we move through these end times.

2 Timothy 3:1-5
"3 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these."

The people described in 2 Timothy will go to church, pretend to love God only to attempt to use Him and others who belong to Him for their own purposes.

So many people want to feel the safety of God, beg Him for whatever they want but have no love for Him or the people of God.

Matthew 15:7-9 "…7 You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you: 8 ‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. 9 They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’”…

John 13:35 "35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

John 14:15 If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever—…"

John 14:21
"Whoever has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him."

John 14:23
"Jesus replied, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make Our home with him."

John 15:10
"If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and remain in His love."

1 John 2:3
"By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments."

1 John 5:3
"For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome,"

2 John 1:6
"And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the very commandment you have heard from the beginning, that you must walk in love."

These people will not share in your joys or trials but will expect you to share in everything about them. When we see this mentality on a regular basis we might want to rethink our relationship with them. Does it glorify God or does it simply enable them to remain as they are without spiritual growth.

There is monstrous jealousy in the heart of these people, sharing in your things is not an option for the narcissist. They cannot tolerate engaging in encouragement for others but demand it for themselves.

Born again believers who love the Lord feel bad when they have been unkind, but the unregenerate unsaved person has no conscience over their actions or attitudes. They simply do what is natural to them and it is total selfishness.

Give me, give me, give me is the mantra of the unsaved person. Often they do not say these things but they act continually as though they must have their way no matter who it harms.

Proverbs 30:15-16 "15 The leech has two daughters: Give and Give. There are three things that are never satisfied, four that never say, “Enough!”: 16 Sheol, the barren womb, land that is never satisfied with water, and fire that never says, “Enough!”…"

Those who will evaluate themselves are those who want to please God, those who will only be angry at the suggestion to evaluate themselves belong to the devil. There is no desire in them to become holy.

Hebrews 12:13-15 "13 Make straight paths for your feet, so that the lame will not be debilitated, but rather healed. 14 Pursue peace with all men, as well as holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. 15 Be careful that no one falls short of the grace of God, so that no root of bitterness will spring up to cause trouble and defile many."
