When Life Kicks You Around

When life kicks you around for God to get your attention, be excited it means you are being redirected.

Backsliding in my understanding is a Christian who becomes lazy and slides back into sin. These people would never reject Christ they would just ignore Him for a time. When God allows consequences of sin to kick them around enough to where they are broken, then they confess their sin, know they deserved what happened to them and are restored to fellowship with Christ. Sin never loses an authentic born again believer to lose their eternal salvation.
Hebrews 13:5 "Let your manner of living be without covetousness, and be content with such things as ye have. For He hath said, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”;"

1 John 1:9
"9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

1 John 1:9 was written to born again believers.
If we persist in sin the Holy Spirit will stop speaking to us and will not help us in anything we need or want.

1 Thessalonians 5:18-20 "…18 Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not extinguish the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt,…"
