We are not judging people when we see in them something God described in His word. All we are doing is seeing God's judgment and discerning it in life.
Those that say we are not to judge are most often those who don't want to be judged by others because they know the sin in their own lives.
Notice the scripture they use to proclaim "don't judge" is two little words snatched out of context. When we read the rest of the passage we see that God tells us not to judge other for doing what we are doing ourselves. This would be hypocrisy.
Matthew 7:1-6 "7 “Do not judge so that you will not be judged. 2 For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
God says to remove the problem in your own life so that you can go without being a hypocrite to the person who needs correction.
Matthew 7:6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."
Notice in verse 6 we read that we are not to give wisdom to the dogs, that is rebellious unsaved people. How would we be able to know if someone is a "dog" if we didn't judge through discernment of truth whether or not they are dogs.
The devil loves the lies that modern Christians use to intimidate born again believers into silence, here are a few:
"Don't judge" so that no one feels bad about their sin.
"Just love them" meaning ignore their sin and make them happy.
"We are all under grace", as though grace is a license to sin, God doesn't really care about the sin anymore. This one is so silly its beyond belief. Christ had to spill all His blood to pay for that sin, doesn't seem that it doesn't matter any more. If Christ had to pay for it, then He would have made a way to avoid sinning... and He did that.
"We must be careful to make sure we say things the right way so the hearer will receive it." This one is down right silly! Christ and the apostles were hated by most people and Christ promised that this would be the case. Shall we judge that Christ and the apostles must have done something wrong because the hearers didn't receive it? God said that most would not receive it! The Holy Spirit is the One Who determines our delivery, we do not "think it through with our human mind hoping we don't offend anyone."
All of these modern day mantras came about to threaten us with verbal and emotional abuse if we dare to speak truth. The modern Christian will not accept anything but praise and adulation, anything else is met with anger and rage.
Proverbs 12:1-2 "1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid. 2 The good man obtains favor from the LORD, but the LORD condemns a man who devises evil."
Proverbs 1:22 "22 “How long, O simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will scoffers delight in their scorn and fools hate knowledge? 23 If you had repented at my rebuke, then surely I would have poured out my spirit on you; I would have made my words known to you.…"
