Abuse does not make a born again believer leave God. Those who walk away were never born again.
1 John 2:19
"19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us."
Abuse for the believer only makes them draw closer to God not run from Him. Often hardship reveals character as well as shape it. Our response to difficulties says who we have been all along.
