The Lord Knows Who Belongs to Him

In sharing with a brother this morning my joy at the presence of another born again believer that we are meeting for the first time., there is no question that Christ in us has met with Christ in that other person.

I have only experienced this a few times in my life and over time it was evident that the person who stirred my Spirit was also indwelt with the Holy Spirit. It was the Spirit that connected, not emotion, but great inner joy.

Questions About the Holy Spirit for Kids: says this:

"The Bible says, "At the sound of Mary’s greeting, Elizabeth’s child leaped within her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit" (Luke 1:41). The Holy Spirit within Elizabeth and John bore witness to the fact that Mary was carrying the Messiah, Jesus the Christ. Scripture tell us that prophetically, "Elizabeth gave a glad cry and exclaimed to Mary, 'God has blessed you above all women, and your child is blessed. Why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should visit me? When I heard your greeting, the baby in my womb jumped for joy'" (Luke 1:42-44). In the same way, the Holy Spirit bears witness in the lives of other people that you bear the presence of Christ in your life. So shine the light!"

There are also those whom we meet who say they are Christians but the Spirit in us does not bear witness with the spirit in them. We sense not only a disconnect but almost a repulsion as though there is no connection at all.

Those who judge the walk of others a lot to discover their inferiority in order to feel superior to others is evident in those who wish to be seen as good people but really do not possess the goodness of the Lord. These may be pretenders or they may be disobedient Christians, we cannot always know for sure which thing they are, but we know there is no connection between us.

2 Timothy 2:19
"19 Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness.”

The Lord lives in us and He knows who belong to Him.
