I am becoming weary of the hero worship that is occurring among Christians today.
Becoming all atwitter over a celebrity that claims to love Jesus without really knowing anything about their lives is foolish. All there is to go on in these news reports is that they "say" things about Jesus. But at closer inspection most of them are involved in the false Jesus leading to the anti-christ.
Wouldn't it be better to seek Christ on your own for yourself to be sure you are following the right Jesus.
Just because someone uses the name "Jesus" does not mean they are born again. Also lets remember that there have been many false christs as the Bible explains. I never hear these celebrities use the name of Christ, they always say only "Jesus."
The name "Jesus" is a human name common for the time when Jesus Christ was on earth. It is the title "Christ" that distinguishes the real Jesus from the fake ones.
Matthew 7:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’"
Anyone who becomes born again the right way belongs to God and is indwelt with Christ. Those who happen to be celebrities are no more special than any other born again believer, that is if they really did trust Christ.
I never hear these celebrities use the name of "Christ" only Jesus and I never hear them say they were wicked in need of a Savior. They always say they "found Jesus" or the "became a Christian."
No one just decides to be a Christian without a brokenness of spirit over our sinfulness. Nearly all of the celebrities I am hearing about are doing the same things they have always done with the exception of attaching the name Jesus to it. I never hear them calling for repentance but they do preach a prosperity gospel of works.
The bottom line: stop looking to celebrities as special because of their worldly status as an example of Christianity. This is a form of idolatry.
In these last days the celebrities in Hollywood are coming to a false Jesus who will lead directly to the anti-christ.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15
"For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds."
2 Timothy 3:5
"Having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people."
Matthew 7:15
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves."
