Interrupting: Bad Habit Or Sign Of Narcissism?

When others speak do we listen to understand or merely to pretend we care. Are we listening to discern truth or wait impatiently to be able to say what we want to in rebuttal. Truth ought to be the goal and there can be no discerning of truth if we do not listen first, but listen to hear and evaluate what is said. Rejecting someone's thoughts before hearing the entire matter is narcissistic in nature. Most people today live in habitual desire to be heard but few actually want to listen to others. Most people in our day love their "fast food" conversations in which everyone only says happy things or elevates self to feel special without concern for the person right in front of them.
