Compassion for the Lost

Even though narcissistic people are those we should avoid, we can still have a sense of compassion in prayer for their miserable state.

Our desire for all people, just like Christ, is that they repent and become born again. We have no desire for the evil person to go to hell. Our desire is that these people learn their ruined state as we had to learn ours and repent to be saved.

Romans 3:23
"23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"

1 John 1:7-9 "…7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.…"

Everyone is given an opportunity to confess their sinfulness and be cleansed by God. No one can say they were not shown the need to repent. If they have known even one Christian the Holy Spirit in that Christian gave them a sense that He was present and this person would have the answers to salvation, by inquiring.

We cannot help those who refuse to listen. We cannot force anyone, intimidate anyone or demean anyone into choosing Christ. We simply tell the truth because of the love we have for them and walk on down the road if they refuse.

When we have trusted Christ we know it is Him who draws and Him Who brings the increase. We are merely messengers not responsible for results only to bring the message.

1 Corinthians 3:6-8 "…6 I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8 He who plants and he who waters are one in purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor.…"

Perhaps humans want to see the numbers of people they have witnessed to come to the Lord so they can feel pride in "what they have done." Brethren lose pride, lose the need to see numbers and results and just obey God. Everything will be sorted out in the end and all the glory will go to God.

If we are looking for results we will be constantly disappointed because most people will not receive the good news of salvation through repentance. And some will have to ponder it a while before realizing their need, someone else may see what you did but you will not find out until heaven.

This is not about notches on our belts for bragging rights. This is watching God work in us as we obey. He gets all the glory all the time.

Hallelujah!!!!
