Scripture Must Be the Measure of Truth

I know it sounds harsh to some, but I will not allow continual back and forth arguing about a matter when those who want to argue will not bring scripture to back up what they say.

Often those who wish to argue are not concnerned about the Bible, but are only concerned about emotional circumstances. We do not base our belief system on emotional arguments, we base them on the Word of God.

IF God says something it does not matter how one wants to justify sin, we are only concerned about what God said. God knows best about right and wrong, all we have to do is seek Him for the answers.

It is when people look to their own emotions for their standards that cause petty arguments where there need not be an argument.

It is common for me to ask contentious people to provide me with the proof scripture for their assertions, but the will not. As soon as I ask for scripture they begin the personal attacks. "You're this" and "You're that", are phrases we hear, but not the scripture.

Some provide scripture out of context, when corrected with the entire passage to support the thought they become angry and repeat themselves.

I was once accused of not bringing scripture when I had provided many scriptures and even an entire article full of scripture. After this came the personal attacks on my character.

Remember this: When someone cannot answer with scripture they usually begin the character assassination. This is when we know they don't diligently divide the word or are not led by the Holy Spirit. One of the signs of someone not being able to admit they don't know something is when they begin the personal attacks and rage at us.

Romans 2:8
"8 but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation."

Philippians 2:14
"14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing;"

Proverbs 22:23-25 "
…23 for the LORD will take up their case and will plunder those who rob them. 24 Do not make friends with an angry man, and do not associate with a hot-tempered man, 25 or you may learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.…"
