Sheltering in Place with Dignity

A conversation with a dear sister this morning revealed that if you are wise you will heed the warning to be prepared for "sheltering in place" for a number of days.

THIS IS NOT FEAR MONGERING, THIS IS RATIONAL WARNING TO PREPARE FOR SOMETHING THAT IS COMING.

"Friend: My sister works in Oly
She said to keep cars full of gas and fill propane tanks for a month’s worth. She heard it in the house. She said no joke. Be prepared. Natl guard is here also. Which you know
7:33 AM

Gwendolyn: We are prepared, but believe it or not, conspiracy theory people have mocked me for my warnings that came from another person. Why do they believe all their conspiracies but not this warning is beyond me.

It's possible that they don't even believe their own conspiracies but are frightened to admit this because they know its real."

I have not warned people about the virus, I was warning them that life might be shut down and to prepare for it.

It is a lack of faith when we cannot face things in reality with joy and hope that God will take care of us. Just do what is necessary and praise God that you have what you need and the stint of minor difficulty will be short-lived.

There are so many people who have plenty to do at their home if they would just take this "shut down" as an opportunity to connect with their families as well as spit shine their entire household.

Look at all the money we can save because we are not out spending money on fast food and other things we don't really need. It is true that most of what we buy we don't need.

Wave to the neighbors, visit across the fence from 20 feet away. Make the best of something that could be frightening if we chose to cogitate on frightening things when it isn't all that frightening really, only in our own minds.

We may be "sent to our room" for a short time, use it to pray, read the word and clean up your house. Then when all that is done put together puzzles, learn to quilt or crochet with leftover fabric.

I knew of a woman who used old clothing she cut up to put together quilts. We all have something in our house that we could create if we just stop to think about it.

Ladies; if you can go to the store pick up some yarn and make baby blankets at this time. You can go now, but in a few days you will not be able to, so plan ahead and be ready to have a project. You have your own ideas, let this be a time of in house productivity, even joy with your families.

You all have talents you have not discovered yet that could be enjoyed if you want to be productive.

The following passage was written about Israel but has principles for born again believers. God takes care of His own.

Psalm 46:1-3
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
The holy dwelling places of the Most High.
5 God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
6 The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered;
He raised His voice, the earth melted.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord,
Who has wrought desolations in the earth?
9 He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariots with fire.
10 “CEASE STRIVING AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.

10 “CEASE STRIVING AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD;"

Use your alone time to praise God, read His Word, pray and after that get things done you didn't have time for before.
