It makes sense that people would abandon the truth as we move closer to the tribulation. I keep remembering that Noah preached 120 years and no one would listen. He and his family entered the ark and God closed the door with only animals and eight people inside.
Matthew 24:37-39
37 For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be."
People make rash judgments based on their emotions and little evidence as we move closer to the tribulation. They will defend sin and fight against the truth. When presented with the truth they will claim it is not.
Rational and reasonable decisions are fewer and fewer these days. Bad is embraced and good is refused. Justice is abandoned in favor of feelings oriented decisions.
2 Timothy 4:2-4 "…2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and encourage with every form of patient instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears, they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. 4 So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."
Most people in our day will think with their emotions more than they will with their mind, this will be why most people will not listen to reasonable and rational discussion to discover truth.
Born again believers be clear we are going home soon and leaving all this mess behind us. I am tempted to agonize over all that goes on but I dismiss it quickly by reminding myself that God said it would be a time of "raging insanity", at the end of the church age.
