Challenged by Those Who Do not Know the Bible

There was a challenge to me today that I should never judge anyone. That I should just believe what they tell me. Of course, the person who challenged me didn't say it this way but the inference was clear. Here was my answer to this challenge.

Many Christians are being deceived by famous false converts because they lack the discernment that comes from the Holy Spirit. Since so many are clouded in their thinking by what they want and like they have an inability to see the truth. Often they defend things and people as good when they are not good at all. Decisions about people and events are mostly based on emotions rather than depth of discernment and knowledge of the word. Sometimes these emotions are based on a love of traditions and motivational speaking than on reality.

God commands us to judge righteous judgment. Many people do not have discernment about evil because they do not know their Bibles. Here are some verses that might help with this understanding. There is no way to have wisdom without judging matters and discerning people. In order to know right from wrong and good people from evil people, we must know the scriptures and the heart of God. God judges the heart and He lives in born again believers. The Holy Spirit would never allow me to believe something about someone that was not true.

1 Corinthians 2:14-16 "…14The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15The spiritual man judges all things, but he himself is not subject to anyone’s judgment. 16“For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.…"

2 Timothy 3:1-5
“Difficult Times Will Come”
3 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, [a]haters of good, 4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to a form of [b]godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.

Hebrews 5:13-14 "…13 For everyone who lives on milk is still an infant, inexperienced in the message of righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained their sensibilities to distinguish good from evil."

In order to have wisdom, we must be able to discern the character of a person to know if they are of God or not.

Matthew 7:15
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves."

1 John 4:1-6
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. ..."

Then there are those who confess Jesus, not Jesus Christ, they always leave off the title that makes Him God, but there is no fruit, no repentance, and no commitment to His Word. There is only hype, emotional outbursts for effect, and little if any substance.

Matthew 7:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’"

Be careful whom you follow! Many Christians are praising and lauding men but rarely do they do this with Jesus Christ.
