Amen, Amen!!!!
Galatians 5:22-23
"22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
Jim Elliot: Lost Valley Missions"There is no such thing as true holiness without compassion; not merely outward expressions of compassion but compassion that is felt in the heart: yes, felt in the heart (Matthew 18, John 13:34-35).
All holiness without true compassion is the advancement of spiritual pride.
Spiritual pride results from advancing in holiness without an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. A real relationship with Jesus makes the heart humble and tender.
Yes, you can advance in holiness without a real relationship with Jesus, but you cannot grow in true holiness without one.
It is possible and quite common to mature in a disciplinary lifestyle of "touch not, taste not" fasting, prayers, Bible reading, street preaching, and all of the above without having an authentic relationship with Jesus.
Mere religion changes only the outward acts: true religion or otherwise called "real relationship with Jesus" changes the heart from which the acts are produced.
You can do "all of the above" religious works and have no compassion, no true holiness.
What Jesus died for and is looking for is true relationship, true holiness, true religion (Revelation 2:1-7)."
