When God has opened our eyes to the wrong beliefs that have been a part of our lives we begin to find ourselves standing alone without many friends.
God is opening the eyes of His authentic believers, to the many things that were nothing more than "Christian culture", not at all Biblical.
The day we see without the rose colored glasses is the day we see life in reality. It's not easy because we will lose friends because we don't do the things they do or go the places they love to go. We become not only a curiosity but also objects of contempt.
When we see the scoffing mentality of those who love their tradition more than they love God, then we must walk away and speak no more to them, they will not listen.
2 Chronicles 36:16
"but they continually mocked the messengers of God, despised His words and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against His people, until there was no remedy."
Matthew 7:6
"Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."
2 Peter 3:3
"Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,"
We are living in the times of 2 Timothy 3. We will be accused of being negative, but in our hearts we are full of joy, able to speak truth about what is going on without being devastated by what we see. We hate what we see, we wish our loved ones would have eyes to see, but we have no power to make them see. God must do His work His way as we move on down the road to the next person who may listen.
Matthew 10:13-15 "…13 If the home is worthy, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. 14 And if anyone will not welcome you or heed your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town. 15 Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.…"
